In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5 U.S.C. App., the United States Department of Agriculture announces solicitation for nominations to fill 10 vacancies on the National Agricultural Research, Extension, Education and Economics Advisory Board.

The topic of the meeting on June 9-10, 2009 is to review new start and continuing research and development projects requesting Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program funds in excess of $1M. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is amending its regulations to exempt portions of a system of records from certain provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. Specifically, DHS proposes to exempt portions of the Compliance Tracking and Management System (CTMS) from one or more provisions of the Privacy Act because of criminal, civil and administrative enforcement requirements. CTMS is a system of records that DHS will use to support the Verification Division of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). CTMS collects and uses information necessary for DHS to support monitoring and compliance activities for researching and managing misuse, abuse, discrimination, breach of privacy, and fraudulent use of information obtained through two USCIS Verification Division programs: Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE); and E-Verify.

In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, PublicLaw 104-13, this notice announces that the Information Collection Request, abstracted below, is being forwarded to the Office of Management and Budget for extension of approval of currently approved ICR-2106-0036, Foreign Air Carrier Application for Statement of Authorization. Earlier, a Federal Register Notice with a 60-day comment period was published (73 FR 74223, December 5, 2008). The agency did not receive any comments to its previous notice.

The Defense Science Board Task Force on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) Phase III will meet in closed session on 2-3 June 2009; at Strategic Analysis, Inc., 4075 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 200, Arlington, VA. The Task Force members will discuss interim findings and recommendations resulting from ongoing Task Force activities. The Task Force will also discuss plans for future consideration of scientific and technical aspects of specific strategies, tactics, and policies as they may affect the U.S. national defense posture.
