Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Furnaces
Document Number: 2022-01765
Type: Proposed Rule
Date: 2022-01-28
Agency: Department of Energy
The U.S. Department of Energy (``DOE'') is initiating an effort to determine whether to amend the current energy conservation standards for certain classes of consumer furnaces. Under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, as amended, DOE must review these standards at least once every six years and publish either a notice of proposed rulemaking (``NOPR'') to propose new standards or a notification of determination that the existing standards do not need to be amended. This request for information (``RFI'') solicits information from the public to help DOE determine whether amended standards for non-weatherized oil-fired, mobile home oil-fired, weatherized oil-fired, weatherized gas, and electric consumer furnaces would result in significant energy savings and whether such standards would be technologically feasible and economically justified. DOE also welcomes written comments from the public on any subject within the scope of this document (including those topics not specifically raised), as well as the submission of data and other relevant information.

Energy Conservation Program: Test Procedure and Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Products; Consumer Air Cleaners
Document Number: 2022-01035
Type: Proposed Rule
Date: 2022-01-25
Agency: Department of Energy
The U.S. Department of Energy (``DOE'') is initiating rulemaking activities to consider potential test procedure and energy conservation standards for consumer air cleaners. Through this request for information (``RFI''), DOE seeks data and information regarding development and evaluation of a new test procedure that would be reasonably designed to produce test results which reflect energy use during a representative average use cycle for the product without being unduly burdensome to conduct. Additionally, this RFI solicits information regarding the development and evaluation of potential new energy conservation standards for consumer air cleaners, and whether such standards would result in significant energy savings, be technologically feasible and economically justified. DOE also welcomes written comments from the public on any subject within the scope of this document (including those topics not specifically raised), as well as the submission of data and other relevant information.
Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Dishwashers, Webinar and Availability of the Preliminary Technical Support Document
Document Number: 2022-01157
Type: Proposed Rule
Date: 2022-01-24
Agency: Department of Energy
The U.S. Department of Energy (``DOE'' or ``the Department'') will hold a webinar to discuss and receive comments on the preliminary analysis it has conducted for purposes of evaluating energy conservation standards for dishwashers. The webinar will cover the analytical framework, models, and tools that DOE is using to evaluate potential standards for this product; the results of preliminary analyses performed by DOE for this product; the potential energy conservation standard levels derived from these analyses that DOE could consider for this product should it determine that proposed amendments are necessary; and any other issues relevant to the evaluation of energy conservation standards for dishwashers. In addition, DOE encourages written comments on these subjects. To inform interested parties and to facilitate this process, DOE has prepared an agenda, a preliminary technical support document (``TSD''), and briefing materials, which are available on the DOE website at: www1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/appliance_standards/ standards.aspx?productid=38&action=viewlive.
