The Type of Review is a Revision, the Responses are 895,050, and the Burden Hours are 322,629. The Abstract is as follows: ``These forms are the means by which (1) An applicant applies for and promises to repay a Direct Consolidation Loan and (2) a loan holder verifies that a loan is eligible for consolidation.'' The Leader, Information Management Case Services Team, Regulatory Information Management Services, Office of Management, hereby issues a correction notice as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.

This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda of a forthcoming teleconference meeting of the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance (The Advisory Committee). This notice also describes the functions of the Advisory Committee. Notice of this meeting is required under Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The Secretary gives notice of the implementation of electronic cohort default rate (eCDR) delivery notification packages to institutions located outside of the United States (foreign institutions) that participate in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, authorized under Part B of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. This notice is effective for each foreign institution as of the date the U.S. Department of Education (the Department) advises the institution that the Department has completed the process of enabling the institution to enroll in the Department's Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG).

The Secretary of Education requests comments on the Student Aid Report (SAR) that the Secretary proposes to use for the 2008-2009 award year. The SAR is used to notify Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) applicants of their eligibility to receive federal student aid under the student financial assistance programs authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and to provide an opportunity for applicants to correct or update the information they provided on their FAFSA.

The Secretary proposes to amend the regulations on Student Assistance General Provisions; Federal Perkins Loan (Perkins Loan) Program; Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) Program; Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program; William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program; Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant) Program; and Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) and National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (National SMART Grant) Programs. The proposed regulations would reduce administrative burden for program participants, provide benefits to students and borrowers, and protect taxpayers' interests.
