Biofungitek, S.L. submitted a petition, pursuant to section 408(d) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), requesting an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for the biochemical pesticide potassium carbonate. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of potassium carbonate under FFDCA when used in accordance with this exemption.

Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Houston-Galveston, or a designated representative. The purpose of this safety zone is to ensure no members of the public will be within the fallout radius from the fireworks show taking place, this will reduce the probability of any injuries or damage due to the inherent danger of launching fireworks from a barge.
