Power Electric Cooperative’s (Sho-Me)
application for surrender of license for
the Niangua Hydroelectric Project No.
2561 and have prepared an
Environmental Assessment (EA) for the
proposed surrender. The licensee

drained and sealed at both ends and the
project would be disconnected from the
power grid. No ground disturbing
activities are proposed with surrender of
the project license. The project is
located on the Niangua River in Camden
County, Missouri.
The EA contains Commission staff’s
analysis of the potential environmental
effects of surrendering the license and
concludes that the proposed surrender,
with appropriate environmental
protective measures, would not
constitute a major Federal action that
would significantly affect the quality of
the human environment.
