National Safe Routes to School Task Force to the Secretary of Transportation
This document announces the scheduling of a teleconference by the National Safe Routes to School Task Force to the Secretary of Transportation. The purpose of the Task Force is to advise the Secretary of Transportation, through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Safety, on strategies to advance Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Programs nationwide and to encourage children, including those with disabilities, to walk and bicycle to school pursuant to section 1404(h) of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) (Pub. L. 109-59, Aug. 10, 2005). During this teleconference, the Task Force will discuss their draft report to the Secretary.
Notice of Final Federal Agency Actions on Proposed Highway in Washington
This notice announces actions taken by the FHWA that are final within the meaning of 23 U.S.C. 139(l)(1). The actions relate to a proposed highway project, the SR 519 Intermodal Access ProjectPhase 2: Atlantic Corridor, in the State of Washington. Those actions grant licenses, permits, and approvals for the project.
Highway Safety Improvement Program
The purpose of this notice of proposed amendments is to revise Part 924 to incorporate changes to the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) that resulted from the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), as well as to reflect changes in the overall program that have evolved since 23 CFR part 924 was originally written.

The FHWA, on behalf of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), is issuing this notice to advise the public that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be prepared for the proposed 24th Street Improvement Project in Kern County, California.
Environmental Impact Statement: Cameron County, TX
FHWA is issuing this notice to advise the public that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) will be prepared for the proposed South Padre Island Second Access project in Cameron County, Texas. Publication of this Notice of Intent (NOI) will serve to rescind a previous NOI published in July 2003 for the same project. The proposed project would link State Highway (SH) 100 on the mainland with Park Road (PR) 100 on South Padre Island. Currently, vehicular access to South Padre Island is limited to the Queen Isabella Memorial Causeway connecting the City of Port Isabel and the Town of South Padre Island. The proposed project would provide a second connection from the Texas mainland to South Padre Island in Cameron County, Texas. The proposed project would consist of construction predominantly on new right-of- way.
Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement: I-70 Kansas City to St. Louis, MO
The FHWA is issuing this notice to advise the public that a supplemental environmental impact statement (EIS) will be prepared for the approved I-70 First and Second Tier environmental documents. The I- 70 corridor for this Supplemental EIS is from the I-470 interchange in Kansas City to near the Lake St. Louis interchange in St. Louis. The project length is approximately 199 miles.
Environmental Impact Statement: Franklin and Warren Counties, MO
The FHWA is issuing this notice to advise the public that an environmental impact statement (EIS) will be prepared for proposed improvements to Route 47 between Route 94 in Warren County and Fifth Street in the city of Washington in Franklin County, Missouri.
Motorcyclist Advisory Council to the Federal Highway Administration
This document announces the fourth meeting of the Motorcyclist Advisory Council to the Federal Highway Administration (MAC-FHWA). The purpose of this meeting is to advise the Secretary of Transportation, through the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration, on infrastructure issues of concern to motorcyclists, including (1) Barrier design; (2) road design, construction, and maintenance practices; and (3) the architecture and implementation of intelligent transportation system technologies, pursuant to section 1914 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).

This notice provides a revised statement of policy concerning the FHWA's process for reviewing Buy America Waiver requests on Federal-aid highway construction projects. The FHWA has established a Web page to provide the public with an informal notice and comment opportunity for all Buy America waiver requests.
Environmental Impact Statement: Salt Lake and Davis Counties, UT
The FHWA is issuing this notice to advise the public that the effort to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for transportation improvements in the I-15 North Corridor from downtown Salt Lake City to Kaysville will be terminated.
Proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Assigning Environmental Responsibilities to the State of Utah
This notice announces that the FHWA and the Utah Department of Transportation, have developed a proposed MOU, pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 326, under which the FHWA would assign to the State the FHWA's responsibility for determining whether a project is categorically excluded from preparation of an environmental assessment or an environmental impact statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq. (NEPA), and for carrying out certain other responsibilities for conducting environmental reviews, consultations, and related activities for Federal-aid highway projects. The public is invited to comment on any aspect of the proposed MOU, including the proposed designations of categorical exclusions and scope of environmental review, consultation and other activities to be assigned.
Notice of Final Federal Agency Actions on U.S. 26, Wilwood to Wemme: Clackamas County, OR
This notice announces actions taken by the FHWA that are final within the meaning of 23 U.S.C. 139(l)(1). The actions relate to a proposed highway project, U.S. 26, the Mt. Hood Highway, from Wildwood to Wemme, in Clackamas County, Oregon. Those actions grant approval for the project.
Cancellation of Environmental Impact Statement: Clatsop County, OR
On September 28, 1994, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued a Notice of Intent, in the Federal Register, to advise agencies and the public that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) would be prepared for a proposed Astoria Bypass in Clatsop County, Oregon. The project proposed to realign approximately 6 miles of U.S. 30, the Lower Columbia River Highway, from the John Day River Bridge, over new alignment through the Clatsop State Forest, to connect with OR 202, the Nehalem Highway, at Williamsport Road, and then joint U.S. 101 on the west side of Astoria near the north end of the Youngs Bay Bridge. The project is now cancelled; therefore, no further project activities will occur.
Environment Impact Statements: Counties of Jefferson, St. Clair, and Mobile, AL
The FHWA is issuing this notice to advise the public that two Notices of Intent are being rescinded; the first published on August 2, 2006, to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a proposed highway project in Jefferson and St. Clair Counties, Alabama is being rescinded; and the second published on July 27, 1995, to prepare an EIS for a proposed highway project in Mobile County, Alabama is being rescinded.
