The Employment and Training Administration is issuing this notice to announce the receipt of two (2) individual ``Certification of Non-Relocation and Market and Capacity Information Reports'' (Form 4279-2) for the following: Applicant/Location: Central Pork Packers, LLC/Cherokee, Iowa and Rock Rapids, Iowa. Principal Product/Purpose: The loan, guarantee, or grant applications are for two (2) new business ventures that plan to separately acquire for each location the infrastructure, building, and equipment needed for pork animal slaughtering. The Employment and Training Administration published a document in the Federal Register on June 20, 2008, announcing the availability of funds and solicitation for grant applications (SGA) under the TBL Initiative to be awarded through a competitive process. This notice is a second amendment to the SGA and it amends ``Part V. Applications Review Process,'' under the specific heading ``Strength of Partnerships.''
Notice of a Change in Status of an Extended Benefit (EB) Period for Rhode Island
This notice announces a change in benefit period eligibility under the EB Program for Rhode Island. The following change has occurred since the publication of the last notice regarding the State's EB status: Effective June 22, 2008, Rhode Island's 3-month seasonally adjusted total unemployment rate rose to the 6.5 percent threshold and exceeded 110 percent of the corresponding rate in the prior year. This causes the State to be triggered ``on'' to an EB period beginning July 6, 2008.
Proposed Information Collection Request, Extension of Approved Collection With One Revision: “Petition for Trade Adjustment Assistance and Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance, Business Confidential Data Request, Business Confidential Non-Production Questionnaire, and Business Confidential Customer Survey”
The Department of Labor, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden conducts a preclearance consultation program to provide the general public and Federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) [44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)]. This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the Employment and Training Administration is soliciting comments concerning the proposed extension, with revisions, of data collections using the ETA Form 9042A, Petition for Trade Adjustment Assistance and Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance (1205-0342) and its Spanish translation ETA 9042A-1 (1205-0342); ETA 9043a, Business Confidential Data Request (1205-0342); ETA 8562a, Business Confidential Customer Survey (1205-0342). There is only one revision: ETA 9118 Business Confidential Non Production Questionnaire (currently approved under OMB Control Number 1205-0447) will be consolidated with the other forms listed above into one reporting requirement under OMB control number 1205-0342.
