Airworthiness Directives; Leonardo S.p.a. Helicopters

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Leonardo S.p.a. Model AB139 and AW139 helicopters. This proposed AD was prompted by a report of a short circuit caused by chafing of the electrical wiring in the overhead panel. This proposed AD would require an initial detailed inspection inside the overhead panel for certain helicopters, repetitive detailed inspections inside the overhead panel for all helicopters, and corrective actions if necessary, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is proposed for incorporation by reference (IBR). The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Bombardier, Inc., CL-600-2B16 (604 Variant) airplanes. This proposed AD was prompted by multiple reports of cracking of the main landing gear (MLG) shock strut lower pin. This proposed AD would require repetitive lubrication and repetitive detailed visual inspections (DVI) and non-destructive test (NDT) inspections of the MLG shock strut lower pins, and replacement if necessary. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.

(Spartan), has determined that certain model year (MY) 2005 2012;2020 Spartan Diamond, Gladiator, and MetroStar emergency response vehicles do not fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 121, Air Brake Systems. Spartan filed an original noncompliance report dated November 4, 2019, and later amended it on November 11, 2019. Subsequently, Spartan petitioned NHTSA on December 2, 2019, for a decision that the subject noncompliance is inconsequential as it relates to motor vehicle safety.
