Notice of Scoping for Preparing an Environmental Impact Analysis of a Proposed Pilot Project at Everglades National Park
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) (42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq.), that public scoping is being initiated for an environmental impact analysis process to evaluate the use of swales placed downstream of existing culverts for improving water flows under Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) into Northeast Shark Slough, Everglades National Park (Park). The purpose of this scoping effort is to identify environmental issues and potential alternatives to be addressed in the environmental impact analysis. The NEPA analysis will begin with the preparation of the Environmental Assessment (EA). As the project moves forward and if the National Park Service (NPS) determines that this project is likely to result in significant impacts to the human environment, the EA will be converted to an Environmental Impact Statement.
Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area Advisory Council; Notice of Public Meeting
Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area Advisory Council will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Massachusetts State House, 24 Beacon Street, Gardner Auditorium, Boston, MA 02133. This will be a quarterly meeting of the Council. The agenda will include a discussion of a proposal for a learning center, next steps for the council, report from the Superintendent, and public comment. The meeting will be open to the public. National Park System Advisory Board; Meeting
Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5 U.S.C. Appendix, and part 65 of title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations, that the National Park System Advisory Board will meet July 21-22, 2008, in Washington, DC. The Board will have an orientation session on the morning of July 21, and in the afternoon tour park sites in the National Capital Region. Notice of Availability of Four Records of Decision and Three Approved Resource Management Plans for the Arizona Strip Field Office, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, and Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument (BLM Portion), and Approved General Management Plan for Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument (NPS Portion), Arizona
In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Federal Land Policy and Management Act, and the National Park and Recreation Act of 1978, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and National Park Service (NPS) policies, the BLM and NPS announce the availability of the two Records of Decision (RODs) for the Approved Resource Management Plan/General Management Plan for the jointly- managed Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument (Parashant), located in Mohave County, Arizona. Separate RODs for the BLM and NPS decisions in the Approved Resource Management Plan/General Management Plan have been signed by the BLM Arizona State Director, and by the NPS Pacific West Regional Director, respectively, for each agency's decisions contained in the Approved Resource Management Plan/General Management Plan. The BLM also announces the availability of the ROD/Approved Resource Management Plan for the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument (Vermilion) and the ROD/Approved Resource Management Plan for the Arizona Strip Field Office (ASFO), located in Mohave and Coconino Counties, Arizona. Both of these areas are managed solely by the BLM.
