The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is amending its regulations to require that jurisdictional natural gas companies report damage to facilities as the result of a natural disaster or terrorist activity that results in a reduction in pipeline throughput or storage deliverability. The Commission is issuing this Final Rule based on its experience following Hurricanes Rita and Katrina under the existing reporting requirements which only require pipeline companies to report service interruptions and therefore did not require natural gas companies to report significant hurricane damage to facilities in instances where service interruptions were avoided by rerouting gas supplies or other means. The Commission has determined that the additional reporting requirements are necessary in order to effectively monitor the nation's natural gas infrastructure in crisis situations.

The Deputy Secretary, Department of Energy, confirmed and approved, on an interim basis, Rate Schedules VA-1-A, VA-2-A, VA-3-A, VA-4-A, CP&L-1-A, CP&L-2-A, CP&L-3-A, CP&L-4-A, AP-1-A, AP-2-A, AP-3-A, AP-4-A, NC-1-A, Replacement-2, and VANC-1. The rates were approved on an interim basis through September 30, 2011, and are subject to confirmation and approval by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on a final basis.

The EIA has submitted the Energy Information Administration's Manufacturing Energy Consumption Survey to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and a reinstatement under section 3507(h)(1) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (Pub. L. 104-13) (44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.).

The Department of Energy (DOE), pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, intends to extend for three years the information collection package entitled, ``Chronic Beryllium Disease Prevention Program.'' Comments are invited on: (a) Whether the extended information collections are necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information has practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency's estimate of the burden of the information collections, including the validity of the methodology and assumptions used; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden of the information collections on respondents, including through the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology.
