Sunshine Act Meeting; New Time and Date of Proceeding
The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) published a document in the Federal Register of August 13, 2013, (78 FR 49262), concerning notice of intent to convene a public meeting and hearing on October 22, 2013, at the Knoxville Convention Center, 701 Henley Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37902 with regard to safety-related matters at defense nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Due to the lapse in appropriations and subsequent federal government shutdown, the Board decided to postpone the meeting and hearing to a future date. The Board was unable to publish notice of the postponement in the Federal Register due to the shutdown. The Board has now decided on a new time and date for the proceeding. There is no change to the hearing location or the matters to be considered that were originally described in the Board's August 13, 2013, notice cited above.
Draft Revised Strategic Plan for FY 2014-2018
In accordance with Office of Management and Budget Circular No. A-11, the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) is soliciting comments from all interested and potentially affected parties on its draft revised strategic plan. DNFSB will consider all comments received as a result of this outreach effort. The draft plan is available for review on DNFSB's Web site at https://www.dnfsb.gov/. Comments may be sent to the acting Deputy General Manager at mailbox@dnfsb.gov or the address below.

Pursuant to the provisions of the ``Government in the Sunshine Act'' (5 U.S.C. 552b), and as authorized by 42 U.S.C. 2286b, notice is hereby given of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board's (Board) public meeting and hearing described below. The Board invites any interested persons or groups to present any comments, technical information, or data concerning safety issues related to the matters to be considered.
Extension of Hearing Record Closure Date
The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) published a document in the Federal Register on January 22, 2013, (78 FR 4393), as amended, February 19, 2013, (78 FR 11632). The publication concerned notice of a hearing and meeting on March 14, 2013, regarding safety culture, emergency preparedness, and safety issues at the Pantex Plant. The Board stated in the January 22, 2013, hearing notice that the hearing record would remain open until April 15, 2013, for the receipt of additional materials. Extension of Time: The Board now extends the period of time for which the hearing record will remain open to June 15, 2013, to further accommodate, among other things, submission of answers to questions taken for the record during the course of the public hearing. Public Availability of Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board FY 2011 Service Contract Inventory Analysis/FY 2012 Service Contract Inventory
In accordance with Section 743 of Division C of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2010 (Pub. L. 111-117), DNFSB is publishing this notice to advise the public of the availability of (1) its analysis of the FY 2011 Service Contract inventory and (2) the FY 2012 Service Contract inventory. This inventory provides information on service contract actions over $25,000 that were made in FY 2012. The information is organized by function to show how contracted resources are distributed throughout the agency. The inventory has been developed in accordance with guidance issued on December 19, 2011, by the Office of Management and Budget's Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP). Second Extension of Hearing Record Closure Date
The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) published a document in the Federal Register on August 15, 2012, (77 FR 48970), as amended, September 7, 2012, (77 FR 55196). The publication concerned notice of a hearing and meeting on October 2, 2012, regarding safety- related aspects of the design and factors that could affect the timely execution of the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) project at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The Board stated in the August 15, 2012, hearing notice that the hearing record would remain open until November 2, 2012, for the receipt of additional materials. The Board subsequently extended the hearing record closure date to January 2, 2013 (77 FR 65871). Extension of Time: The Board now extends the period of time for which the hearing record will remain open to January 16, 2013, to further accommodate submission of answers to questions taken for the record during the course of the public hearing.
