Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-86 authorizes NextEra to operate Seabrook Station, Unit No. 1 (Seabrook) at reactor core power levels not in excess of 3,648 megawatts thermal, and in accordance with the provisions of the Seabrook renewed operating license and technical specifications. In addition, the NRC has prepared a record of decision (ROD) that supports the agency's decision to issue Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-86 authorizing operations at Seabrook for an additional 20 years.

Summer Nuclear Station (VCSNS), Units 2 and 3, Combined Licenses (COLs) designated as NPF-93, and NPF-94, and their included licenses to manufacture, produce, transfer, receive, acquire, own, possess, or use byproduct material. By letter dated December 27, 2017, the South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) requested that the NRC terminate the VCSNS COLs. Although construction was initiated for VCSNS Units 2 and 3, nuclear materials were never possessed under these licenses. Consequently, the VCSNS site is approved for unrestricted use.

On September 24, 2018, United Nuclear Corporation (UNC) requested an amendment to its reclamation plan for its Uranium Mill site near Gallup, New Mexico. UNC is a wholly owned indirect subsidiary corporation of the General Electric Company (GE). This amendment, if granted, would allow construction of a repository for mine-impacted soil. This mine waste would be removed from the Northeast Church Rock Mine Site and transported to be placed in the repository, located on and beside the existing Tailings Disposal Area.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing, with the approval of the U.S. Attorney General, revised guidelines on the use of weapons by the security personnel of licensees and certificate holders whose official duties include the protection of designated facilities, certain radioactive material or other property owned or operated by an NRC licensee or certificate holder, or radioactive material or other property that is being transported to or from a facility owned or operated by such a licensee or certificate holder. The revised guidelines are entitled ``Guidelines on the Use of Firearms by Security Personnel in Protecting U.S. NRC-Regulated Facilities, Radioactive Material, and Other Property, Revision 2.'' The NRC first issued firearms guidelines on September 11, 2009.

On January 31, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested comments on whether it should proceed with a rulemaking to promulgate a generic set of regulations for the operation of uranium in situ recovery (ISR) facilities, including ground water protection requirements, to standardize existing NRC ISR licensing and oversight practices. The public comment period originally was scheduled to close on March 4, 2019. The NRC has decided to extend the public comment period to allow more time for members of the public to develop and submit their comments.

Mr. Bethea was employed as a radiographer at Mistras Group, Inc., (Mistras). Mr. Bethea engaged in deliberate misconduct in violation of the regulations that caused Mistras to be in violation of the regulations and license condition 9.A of its license.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is confirming the effective date of February 25, 2019, for the direct final rule that was published in the Federal Register on December 12, 2018. This direct final rule amended the NRC's spent fuel storage regulations by revising the Holtec International HI-STORM 100 Multipurpose Canister Cask System (HI-STORM 100 System) listing within the ``List of approved spent fuel storage casks'' to include Amendment Nos. 11 and 12 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1014. Amendment Nos. 11 and 12 revise multiple items in the technical specifications for multi-purpose canister models listed under Certificate of Compliance No. 1014; most of these revisions involve changes to the authorized contents. In addition, Amendment No. 11 makes several other editorial changes.
