Notice of Final Federal Agency Actions on Proposed Two New Ohio River Bridge Crossings in Kentucky and Indiana
This notice announces actions taken by the FWHA that are final within the meaning of 23 U.S.C. 139(l)(1). The actions relate to a proposed highway project, the Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project, which would provide a new Ohio River Bridge carrying Interstate 65 (I-65) between Louisville, Kentucky and Jeffersonville, Indiana immediately upstream and adjacent to the existing I-65 bridge, and a second new Ohio River Bridge located approximately eight miles upstream of the existing I-65 crossing, providing a connection between KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky and SR 265 in eastern Clark County, Indiana. Both Bridges are located in Jefferson County, Kentucky and Clark County, Indiana.

Surface Transportation Environment and Planning Cooperative Research Program (STEP)
Section 5207 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) established the Surface Transportation Environment and Planning Cooperative Research Program (STEP). The FHWA anticipates that the STEP or a similar program to provide resources for national research on issues related to planning, environment, and realty will be included in future surface transportation legislation. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2013, the FHWA expects to seek partnerships with other Federal agencies and tribes, State and local governments, and nongovernmental transportation and environmental stakeholders that can leverage limited research funding in the STEP with other stakeholders and partners in order to increase the total amount of resources available to meet the Nation's surface transportation research needs. The purpose of this notice is to announce the STEP implementation strategy for FY 2013 and to request suggested lines of research for the FY 2013 STEP via the STEP Web site at https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/hep/step/index.htm in anticipation of future surface transportation legislation.

Federal-aid recipients must incorporate the revised form in Federal-aid construction projects no later than 45 days after publication of this final notice.

The FHWA is issuing this notice to advise the public that, effective immediately, the Notice of Intent (NOI) (Federal Register Vol. 69, No. 156; FR Doc 04-18584) to prepare an EIS for the proposed improvements to I-515 in the cities of Las Vegas and Henderson, Clark County, NV and in that portion of unincorporated Clark County located between the two cities, is being withdrawn. The NOI for the EIS was announced on August 13, 2004.

In Vol. 68, No. 34/February 20, 2003/Notices, page 8327-8328 [03-4029], the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued a NOI to advise the public that an EIS would be prepared for a proposed construction project for the Bruckner-Sheridan Expressway Interchange and for Improved Access to the Hunts Point Peninsula, in Bronx County, New York.
