Notice of Meeting of the Board of Advisors (BOA) to the President, Naval Postgraduate School (NPS)
Pursuant to the provisions of The Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-463, as amended), notice is hereby given that the following meeting of the Board of Advisors to the President, Naval Postgraduate School will be held. This meeting will be open to the public.
Notice of Public Hearing for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Proposed Homeporting of Additional Surface Ships at Naval Station Mayport, Florida
Pursuant to section 102(2)(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations (40 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 1500-1508 the U.S. Department of the Navy (Navy) has prepared and filed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on March 28, 2008, which evaluates the potential environmental consequences of homeporting additional surface ships at Naval Station (NAVSTA) Mayport, Florida. A Notice of Intent for this DEIS was published in the Federal Register on November 14, 2006 (FR14NO06-25). A public hearing will be held to provide information and receive oral and written comments on the DEIS. A preferred alternative has not been selected or identified in the DEIS. The Navy seeks comments from the public or interested parties regarding the sufficiency of the DEIS and the choice of a preferred alternative. Federal, state, and local agencies and interested individuals are invited to be present or represented at the hearing. Date and Address: One public hearing will be held. The hearing will be preceded by an open house session to allow interested individuals to review information presented in the DEIS DON representatives will be available during the open house session to provide clarification as necessary related to the DEIS. The open house session will occur from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by the formal public hearing from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The public hearing is scheduled for the following date and location: Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Florida Community College, Deerwood Center, B1204 9911 Old Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
Notice of Closed Meeting of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Executive Panel
The CNO Executive Panel will report on the findings and recommendations of the Navy Medicine to the Chief of Naval Operations. The meeting will consist of discussions of the organization, training, and equipping of Navy medical forces; standards of care for Navy members and their dependents; care for wounded members of the Naval service; the optimal level of ``jointness'' in Navy medicine; public policy recommendations to control the rising cost of Navy health care.

Notice of Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement and Overseas Environmental Impact Statement for Navy Training Activities in the Gulf of Alaska
Pursuant to section 102(2)(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) as implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality regulations (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508), and Executive Order 12114 (Environmental Effects Abroad of Major Federal Actions), the Department of the Navy (Navy) announces its intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)/Overseas Environmental Impact Statement (OEIS) to evaluate the potential environmental effects of conducting Navy training in and around the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), including participation in large-scale Joint exercises, to support Fleet training exercise requirements. The Navy will invite the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service to be cooperating agencies in preparation of this EIS/OEIS.

Pursuant to Section 102(2)(C) of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, as implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality Regulations (40 CFR Parts 1500-1508), the Department of the Navy (Navy) has prepared and filed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) to evaluate the potential environmental consequences associated with providing facilities and functions to support the homebasing of P-8A MMA at established maritime patrol installations. Public hearings will be held to provide information and receive oral and written comments on the DEIS. Federal, state, and local agencies, and interested individuals are invited to be present or represented at the hearings.
Fraternization and Sexual Harassment
The Department of the Navy is amending its rules to remove existing sections relating to Fraternization and Sexual Harassment among naval personnel. These rules relate solely to internal personnel matters. Therefore, it has been determined that these rules are not required to be published in the Code of Federal Regulations.
