Commission Information Collection Activities (FERC-725S); Comment Request; Revision
In compliance with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission or FERC) is soliciting public comment on the currently approved information collection, FERC-725S, (Emergency Preparedness and Operations (EOP) Reliability Standards) and submitting the information collection to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review. Any interested person may file comments directly with OMB and should address a copy of those comments to the Commission as explained below.
Agency Information Collection Extension
DOE submitted an information collection request for extension as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The information collection requests a three-year extension, with changes, to the Form NWPA-830G "Appendix GStandard Remittance Advice for Payment of Fees", including annex A to appendix G, under OMB Control Number 1901- 0260. Form NWPA-830G is part of the Standard Contract for Disposal of Spent Nuclear Fuel and/or High-Level Radioactive Waste. Generators and owners of spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste of domestic origin paid fees into the Nuclear Waste Fund based on net electricity generated and sold as defined in the Standard Contract.
Privacy Act of 1974; System of Records
As required by the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars A-108 and A-130, the Department of Energy (DOE or the Department) is publishing notice of a modification to an existing Privacy Act System of Records. DOE proposes to amend System of Records DOE-28 General Training Records. This System of Records Notice (SORN) is being modified to align with new formatting requirements, published by OMB, and to ensure appropriate Privacy Act coverage of business processes and Privacy Act information.
Notice of Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub (PNWH2), (DOE/EIS-0571)
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announces its intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and applicable NEPA implementing regulations to assess the potential environmental impacts of the proposed action of providing financial assistance to the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (also referred to as the PNWH2 Association) to facilitate the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Pacific Northwest Regional Hydrogen Hub including in the states of Washington, Oregon and Montana. DOE is issuing this Notice of Intent to inform the public about the proposed action; announce plans to conduct public scoping meetings; invite public participation in the scoping process; and solicit public comments for consideration in establishing the scope of the EIS, including the range of reasonable alternatives and the potential environmental impacts to be analyzed.

Preventing Outages and Enhancing the Resilience of the Electric Grid Formula Grants to States and Indian Tribes
The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to issue, on behalf of the DOE Grid Deployment Office (GDO), an amendment to the Administrative Legal Requirements Document (ALRD) DE-FOA-0002736 (BILPreventing Outages and Enhancing the Resilience of the Electric Grid Formula Grants to States and Indian Tribes) in February 2025, titled Amendment 000010. This grant program is authorized under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Amendment 000010 to DE-FOA-0002736 will provide access to Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 formula grant allocations.

Notice of Early Public and Governmental Engagement for Potential Designation of Tribal Energy Access, Southwestern Grid Connector, and Lake Erie-Canada National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is issuing this Notice of Early Public and Governmental Engagement to invite input and comment from Federal and State agencies, regional entities, Tribal and local governments, the public, and other interested parties on DOE's consideration of three potential National Interest Electric Transmission Corridors (NIETCs). This notice also provides date, time, and registration information for informational webinars regarding the potential NIETCs. DOE is seeking input and comments on the possible scope of analysis, including environmental, cultural, or socioeconomic effects should DOE designate any of the potential NIETCs, and the contents of DOE's engagement framework, including appropriate methods and locations of future NIETC-specific meetings. DOE also invites any other relevant feedback. Following consideration of comments and suggestions, DOE intends to refine geographic boundaries of the three potential NIETCs identified in this notice and determine its obligations under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental review requirements for each potential NIETC designation identified in this notice. If DOE determines that NIETC designation is a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment, DOE will subsequently begin any necessary NEPA process. If DOE determines that NIETC designation is not a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment, then DOE expects that NEPA would not apply.

The Rescindment of System of Records Notice identifies the system of records and explains why it is being rescinded.
Notice of Request for Information (RFI) on Frontiers in AI for Science, Security, and Technology (FASST) Initiative; Reopening of Comment Period
On September 12, 2024, the U.S. Department of Energy ("DOE") published a request for information ("RFI") to inform how DOE and its 17 national laboratories can provide a national AI capability in the public interest. The RFI provided an opportunity for submitting written comments and public input by November 11, 2024. Due to overwhelming public interest, DOE is reopening the public comment period to allow comments to be submitted until February 17, 2025.
Mandatory Transmission and Distribution Planning Support Activities
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) published an interim final rule on April 29, 2024, that amends the State Energy Program (SEP) regulations to incorporate certain changes made to the DOE-administered formula grant program by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021. DOE is adopting the interim final rule as final without changes.
