On July 8, 2022, a Federal Register Notice was issued that announced the availability of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management's Draft Long-Term Management and Storage of Elemental Mercury Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (Draft Mercury Storage SEIS-II, DOE/EIS-0423-S2D). The Notice also announced two web-based public hearings that were held on August 2 and 4, 2022, to obtain public comments. DOE is extending the public comment period for the Draft SEIS from August 22, 2022, to September 6, 2022.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Commission) proposes to add a requirement that all entities communicating with the Commission or other specified organizations related to a matter subject to the jurisdiction of the Commission submit accurate and factual information and not submit false or misleading information or omit material information. An entity is shielded from violation of the regulation if it has exercised due diligence to prevent such occurrences.
