Notice of Proposed Information Collection Requests
The Secretary of Education requests comments on the Student Aid Report (SAR) that the Secretary proposes to use for the 2007-2008 award year. The SAR is used to notify Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) applicants of their eligibility to receive federal student aid under the student financial assistance programs authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and to provide an opportunity for applicants to correct or update the information they provided on their FAFSA.
Notice of Extension of Project Period and Waiver for the Center on Learning Disabilities
The Secretary waives the requirements in the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR), in 34 CFR 75.250 and 75.261(a), respectively, that generally prohibit project periods exceeding five years and extensions of project periods involving the obligation of additional Federal funds. This extension of project period and waiver will enable the currently funded Center on Learning Disabilities to receive funding from October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.
National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research-Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program-Disability Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRPs) and Rehabilitation Engineering Research Centers (RERCs)
The Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services proposes certain funding priorities for the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program administered by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Specifically, this notice proposes four priorities for DRRPs and seven priorities for RERCs. The Assistant Secretary may use these priorities for competitions in fiscal year (FY) 2007 and later years. We take this action to focus research attention on areas of national need. We intend these priorities to improve rehabilitation services and outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

Title I-Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
The Secretary amends the regulations governing the programs administered under Title I, Part A, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, as amended (ESEA). These regulations are needed to implement statutory provisions regarding State, local educational agency (LEA), and school accountability for the academic achievement of limited English proficient (LEP) students and are needed to implement changes to Title I of the ESEA made by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB Act).

This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda of a forthcoming meeting of the National Board for Education Sciences. Notice of this meeting is required under Section 10(a)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
