Evaluating and Improving NIST Cybersecurity Resources: The Cybersecurity Framework and Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information to assist in evaluating and improving its cybersecurity resources, including the ``Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity'' (the ``NIST Cybersecurity Framework,'' ``CSF'' or ``Framework'') and a variety of existing and potential standards, guidelines, and other information, including those relating to improving cybersecurity in supply chains. NIST is considering updating the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to account for the changing landscape of cybersecurity risks, technologies, and resources. In addition, NIST recently announced it would launch the National Initiative for Improving Cybersecurity in Supply Chains (NIICS) to address cybersecurity risks in supply chains. This wide- ranging public-private partnership will focus on identifying tools and guidance for technology developers and providers, as well as performance-oriented guidance for those acquiring such technology. To inform the direction of the NIICS, including how it might be aligned and integrated with the Cybersecurity Framework, NIST is requesting information that will support the identification and prioritization of supply chain-related cybersecurity needs across sectors. Responses to this RFI will inform a possible revision of the Cybersecurity Framework as well as the NIICS initiative.

Study To Advance a More Productive Tech Economy
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is extending the period for submitting comments relating to the Study to Advance a More Productive Tech Economy to February 15, 2022. In a Request for Information (RFI) that published in the Federal Register on November 22, 2021. NIST requested information about the public and private sector marketplace trends, supply chain risks, legislative, policy, and the future investment needs of eight emerging technology areas, including: Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things in Manufacturing, Quantum Computing, Blockchain Technology, New and Advanced Materials, Unmanned Delivery Services, Internet of Things, and Three-dimensional Printing. This RFI is seeking comments to help identify, understand, refine, and guide the development of the current and future state of technology in the eight emerging technology areas named above. The information will inform a final report that will be submitted to Congress. NIST is extending the comment period announced in the November 22, 2021 RFI from January 31, 2022 to February 15, 2022 in response to stakeholder requests for more time to respond to this important issue.
Standards and Performance Metrics for On-Road Autonomous Vehicles: Workshop
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will be hosting a virtual workshop on the development of Standards and Performance Metrics for On-Road Autonomous Vehicles on March 8-9, 2022. During this two-day event, attendees will have an opportunity to actively provide feedback in facilitated discussions regarding technical focus areas for NIST to develop standards, measurement science, and performance metrics for on-road autonomous vehicle technology. NIST will release a discussion draft that addresses the following technology areas: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Communication, Perception, Infrastructure, and Safety, prior to the workshop. The Secretary of Commerce (Secretary) established the Internet of Things Advisory Board (IoTAB) in accordance with the requirements of the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021, and in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended (FACA), The IoTAB shall provide advice to the Internet of Things Federal Working Group on matters related to the Internet of Things as specified below. The National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) announces approval of revisions to its Personal Body Armor Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) for accreditation of laboratories performing tests on ballistic- and stab-resistant personal body armor. The program has been renamed as the Law Enforcement and Corrections Equipment LAP to better reflect the types of testing being performed within this accreditation program and to allow for future expansion of the program for testing of additional law enforcement and corrections equipment.

Study on People's Republic of China (PRC) Policies and Influence in the Development of International Standards for Emerging Technologies
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is soliciting public comment on People's Republic of China (PRC) policies and influence in the development of international standards for emerging technologies. Section 9414 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2021 directs NIST to enter into an agreement with an appropriate entity to conduct a study and provide recommendations with respect to the effect of policies of the PRC and coordination among industrial entities within the PRC on international bodies engaged in developing and setting international standards for emerging technologies. NIST is seeking comments to provide information for the study and resulting recommendations. In addition to the specific topic areas found in the Request for Information section of this notice, commenters may provide responses to any other relevant issues. Recommendations on the actions the United States could take to mitigate any undue influence of the PRC and bolster United States public and private sector participation in international standards- setting bodies are also sought. Comments received in response to this request will be used to inform the work of the entity.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requests public comments on the Draft Promoting Access to Voting: Recommendations for Addressing Barriers to Private and Independent Voting for People with Disabilities Document (Draft). The Draft was developed by NIST using information collected through the Request for Information (RFI) that was published in the Federal Register on June 16, 2021; review of reports, papers and other literature; and engagement with stakeholder organizations and election officials. The Draft was developed in response to NIST responsibilities set forth in Executive Order (E.O.) 14019, Promoting Access to Voting. Call for Nominations To Serve on the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee and Call for Nominations To Serve on the Subcommittee on Artificial Intelligence and Law Enforcement
The Secretary of Commerce (Secretary), in consultation with the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of Energy, the Secretary of State, the Attorney General, and the Director of National Intelligence, shall establish the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee (the NAIAC or the Committee) in accordance with the requirements of Section 5104 of the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act of 2020, and in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended. The Committee shall provide advice to the President and the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Office on matters related to the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative (Initiative). The purposes of the Initiative are: (1) Ensuring continued United States leadership in artificial intelligence research and development; (2) leading the world in the development and use of trustworthy artificial intelligence systems in the public and private sectors; (3) preparing the present and future United States workforce for the integration of artificial intelligence systems across all sectors of the economy and society; and (4) coordinating ongoing artificial intelligence research, development, and demonstration activities among the civilian agencies, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community to ensure that each informs the work of the others.
