The goals of the project are: (1) To strengthen national service by ensuring that participants consistently find satisfaction and self-efficacy; (2) to determine what contributes to a defining or transformative service experience; (3) to assess whether and how Corporation programs are helping to provide that defining experience; (4) to understand whether and how participants experience connections to their service experience in order to develop knowledge and refine hypotheses about whether, how, when, and why participation in national service delivers benefits to the participants themselves. The study uses focus groups and surveys to understand the experience. This document describes eligibility criteria, the nature of disaster deployments, the Corporation's expectations for performance upon selection, and the application process. This agreement is the legal instrument by which organizations can be reimbursed by the Corporation for expenses incurred by the response, when it occurs under authority of a Mission Assignment from FEMA or another agency. Submission for OMB Emergency Review

Kennedy Serve America Act. We also have a new Strategic Plan in place. The implementation of these changes through the rulemaking process includes ensuring the Corporation's information collection instruments accurately reflect these issues. In an effort to be compliant while maintaining functions essential to the operations of each state commission and AmeriCorps programs, we are therefore submitting the enclosed request under 5 CFR 1320.13 to OMB for emergency processing and approval of information collection activities. This submission includes one set of Application Instructions for AmeriCorps State and National grants. Since the passage of the Edward M. The Corporation for National and Community Service (the Corporation) proposes amendments to its National Service Criminal History Check regulations to require grantees to conduct and document criminal history checks (including both state criminal history checks and FBI fingerprint checks) on Senior Companions, Foster Grandparents, Retired Senior Volunteer Program grant-funded staff, Learn and Serve America, AmeriCorps State/National (including Education Award Program) participants, and other Corporation grant-funded participants and grant-funded staff in all Corporation programs, who, on a recurring basis, have access to children, persons age 60 and older, or individuals with disabilities.
