Agency Reorganization and Delegations of Authority; Correction
The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC or Commission) published in the Federal Register of May 26, 2010, the Final Rule for the reorganization of the Commission. The reference to the Commission's Office of Consumer Affairs and Dispute Resolution Services was inadvertently omitted from Lines of Responsibility and Functions of the Chairman. This document corrects the omission. This correction also adds the legend for the Commission's Organization Chart.
Agency Information Collection Activities: Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC or Commission) hereby gives notice that it has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget a request for an extension of the existing collection requirements under 46 CFR part 535Ocean Common Carrier and Marine Terminal Operator Agreements Subject to the Shipping Act of 1984. The FMC has requested an extension of an existing collection as listed below.
Agency Reorganization and Delegations of Authority
The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC or Commission) amends its regulations relating to agency organization to reflect the reorganization of the agency that took effect January 31, 2010, and to delegate authority to certain FMC bureaus and offices in order to improve the FMC's ability to carry out its statutory responsibilities over the ocean shipping industry in a more responsive manner to the industry's changing needs. This rule also corrects typographical errors in two sections in the Commission's rules.
NVOCC Negotiated Rate Arrangements; Notice of Public Meeting Schedule
On April 29, 2010, the Federal Maritime Commission issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), which appeared in the Federal Register on May 7, 2010, proposing a new exemption for non-vessel- operating common carriers agreeing to negotiated rate arrangements from certain provisions and requirements of the Shipping Act of 1984 and certain provisions and requirements of the Commission's regulations. The Commission will hold a public meeting to receive oral comments and allow participants to field questions from the Commission concerning the proposed rule.

The Commission has determined to hold a public meeting on May 24, 2010 to receive oral comments concerning the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking published May 7, 2010 (75 FR 25150) regarding NVOCC Negotiated Rate Arrangements.
