Safety Standard for Infant Sleep Products

Pursuant to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is issuing this final rule establishing a safety standard for infant sleep products, which are products marketed or intended to provide a sleeping accommodation for an infant up to 5 months of age, and that are not subject to any of CPSC's mandatory standards for infant sleep. CPSC is also finalizing an amendment to its regulations regarding third party conformity assessment bodies, to include the safety standard for infant sleep products in the list of notices of requirements (NORs) and an amendment to the consumer registration rule, to identify infant sleep products as a durable infant or toddler product subject to consumer registration requirements, as a subcategory of bassinets and cradles.

On November 13, 2020, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued for public comment a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for United Nuclear Corporation's (UNC) license amendment request. The public comment period closed on May 27, 2021. The NRC has decided to re-open the public comment period to allow more time for members of the public to develop and submit their comments. UNC is requesting authorization to amend its license (SUA-1475) to excavate approximately 1 million cubic yards (CY) of mine waste from the Northeast Church Rock Mine Site and dispose of it at the existing mill site in McKinley County, New Mexico. The NRC plans to hold a public meeting in the future to promote full understanding of the contemplated action and facilitate public comment.

On June 7, 2021, the Department of Commerce published notice that it was revoking the order effective April 14, 2021, because no domestic interested party filed a timely notice of intent to participate. Accordingly, the subject review is terminated.
