Beaches Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health Act
The Beaches Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health (BEACH) Act, signed into law on October 10, 2000, amended the Clean Water Act (CWA), to incorporate provisions to reduce the risk of illness to users of the Nation's recreational waters. Section 406(b) of the CWA, as amended by the BEACH Act, authorizes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to award grants to eligible States, Territories, Tribes, and local governments to develop and implement programs for monitoring coastal recreation waters, including the Great Lakes, and notifying the public of the potential exposure to disease- causing microorganisms in these waters. EPA encourages coastal and Great Lakes States to apply for BEACH Act grants to implement effective and comprehensive coastal recreation water monitoring and public notification programs (``implementation grants''). EPA also encourages coastal and Great Lakes Tribes to apply for BEACH Act grants to develop effective and comprehensive coastal recreation water monitoring and public notification programs (``development grants'').
Science Advisory Board Staff Office; Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC); Notification of Public Teleconferences; of the Ambient Air Monitoring & Methods (AAMM) Subcommittee
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or Agency) Science Advisory Board (SAB) Staff Office announces two public teleconferences of the Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC) Ambient Air Monitoring & Methods Subcommittee (AAMMS or Subcommittee) to conduct consultations concerning ambient air monitoring issues related to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for ozone and particulate matter.

2009 Special 301 Review: Identification of Countries Under Section 182 of the Trade Act of 1974: Request for Public Comment
Section 182 of the Trade Act of 1974 (Trade Act) (19 U.S.C. 2242) requires the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to identify countries that deny adequate and effective protection of intellectual property rights or deny fair and equitable market access to U.S. persons who rely on intellectual property protection. (The provisions of section 182 are commonly referred to as the ``Special 301'' provisions of the Trade Act.) In addition, the USTR is required to determine which of these countries should be identified as Priority Foreign Countries. USTR requests written submissions from the public concerning foreign countries' acts, policies, and practices that are relevant to the decision of whether particular trading partners should be identified under section 182 of the Trade Act.
Proposed Extension of the Approval of Information Collection Requirements
The Department of Labor (DOL), as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, conducts a preclearance consultation program to provide the general public and Federal agencies with an opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing collections of information in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA95) [44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)]. This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the Employment Standards Administration is soliciting comments concerning its proposal to extend OMB approval of the information collection: Application for a Farm Labor Contractor or Farm Labor Contractor Employee Certificate of Registration, Form WH-530. A copy of the proposed information collection request can be obtained by contacting the office listed below in the addresses section of this Notice.
