The United States Mint is establishing prices for the 2007 American Buffalo Gold Proof One-Ounce Coin. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a) and 5112(q) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue gold coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint will mint and issue 2007 American Buffalo Gold Proof One-Ounce Coins. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is changing the price of these coins to reflect the increase in value of the precious metal content of the coinsthe result of increases in the market price of gold. Notification of American Eagle Gold Proof and Silver Proof and Uncirculated Coin Price Increase
The United States Mint is establishing prices for its 2007 American Eagle Gold and Silver Coins. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a)(3) and 5112(e), (f), & (i) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue gold and silver coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint mints and issues American Eagle Gold Proof Coins in four denominations with the following weights: one-ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, and one-tenth ounce. The United States Mint also produces a four-coin set that contains one coin of each denomination. In addition, the United States Mint produces American Eagle Silver Proof and Uncirculated coins with one ounce of silver in each coin. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is changing the price of these coins to reflect the increase in value of the underlying precious metal content of the coinsthe result of increases in the market price of gold and silver. Accordingly, effective February 1, 2007, the United States Mint will commence selling the following 2007 American Eagle gold and silver coins according to the following price schedule:

Notification of United States Mint Coin Product Price Adjustments
The United States Mint is adjusting the prices of 14 of its coin products for 2007. Some of the United States Mint's annual sets have price increases to reflect the inclusion, beginning in 2007, of the Presidential $1 Coins. Some other products have price decreases to reflect lower costs attributable to manufacturing efficiencies and other factors. Notification of Call for Artists To Apply for the United States Mint's Artistic Infusion Program
The United States Mint is accepting applications from professional artists to fill up to ten new Associate Designer positions in its Artistic Infusion Program to help design United States coins and medals. The Artistic Infusion Program was created in 2003 to enrich and invigorate the design of United States coins and medals by developing a pool of professional artists (Master & Associate Designers) and college and graduate-level art students (Student Designers) in visual arts who will be invited to create and submit new designs for selected coin and medal programs throughout the year. The United States Mint encourages applications from talented artists, representing diverse backgrounds and a variety of interests reflecting those of the American people, who will look at coin design in new ways. Artists selected to participate in the program will be paid an established fee for their work, and those whose designs are used for certain coins and medals will be named as the designer in historical documents, including certificates of authenticity and promotional materials. Most important, the program provides the nation's most gifted artists with the opportunity to contribute beautiful designs to coins that will be enjoyed by all Americans. An orientation session and designer symposium will be held for artists selected to participate in the program (attending at the United States Mint's expense) at the United States Mint at Philadelphia in early 2007. This session's purpose will be to inform selected artists about the history of United States coin and medal design, the coin making process and upcoming design opportunities.

The recent rise in the price of gold requires that the United States Mint raise the prices on its 2006 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5112(i) and 5111(a)(3) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue gold coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint mints and issues American Eagle Gold Proof Coins in four denominations: One-ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, one-tenth ounce, and a four-coin set that contains one coin of each denomination. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is changing the price of these coins to reflect the increase in value of the underlying precious metal content of the coinsthe result of recent increases in the market price of gold. The price of gold has increased substantially from the time the United States Mint last set prices for gold proof coins. Accordingly, effective May 22, 2006, the United States Mint will commence selling these coins according to the following price schedule: One-ounce gold proof coin ($885.00), one-half ounce gold proof coin ($445.00), one-quarter ounce gold proof coin ($220.00), one-tenth ounce gold proof coin ($110.00), four-coin gold proof set ($1,575.00). Prices are subject to change again based on future fluctuations in the market price of gold.

Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5112(f)&(i) grants to the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue silver and gold coins, and the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a)(3) grants to the Secretary of the Treasury to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint mints and issues 1-ounce silver proof coins known as ``American Eagle Silver Proof Coins,'' and 1-ounce, \1/2\-ounce, \1/4\-ounce, and \1/10\-ounce gold proof coins known as ``American Eagle Gold Proof Coins.'' Senior Executive Service Combined Performance Review Board
Pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 4314(c)(4), this notice announces the appointment of members of the Combined Performance Review Board (Board) for the United States Mint, the Financial Management Service (FMS), the Bureau of Public Debt (BPD), the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). The Combined PRB reviews the performance appraisals of career senior executives below the level of bureau head and principal deputy in the five bureaus, except for executives below the Assistant Commissioner level in the FMS. Notification of Platinum Bullion Coin Premium Increase
The United States Mint is increasing the premiums for purchases of uncirculated American Eagle Platinum Bullion Coins to its Authorized Purchasers. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5112(k) grants to the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue platinum coins, the United States Mint mints and issues 1 ounce, \1/2\ ounce, \1/4\ ounce, and \1/ 10\ ounce platinum coins known as ``American Eagle Platinum Bullion'' coins. The United States Mint sells these coins at a price equal to the daily price of the platinum content of the coin, plus a premium. Effective April 1, 2005, the United States Mint will increase the premiums on uncirculated American Eagle Platinum Bullion coins from 3%, 5%, 7%, and 9% for the 1 ounce, \1/2\ ounce, \1/4\ ounce, and \1/10\ ounce coins, respectively, to 4%, 6%, 10%, and 15% for the 1 ounce, \1/ 2\ ounce, \1/4\ ounce, and \1/10\ ounce coins, respectively.

Assessment of Civil Penalties for Misuse of Words, Letters, Symbols, and Emblems of the United States Mint
The proposed rule would establish procedures under which the United States Mint will implement and execute the provisions of 31 U.S.C. 333(c), which authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to assess a civil penalty against any person who has misused the words, titles, abbreviations, initials, symbols, emblems, seals, or badges of the United States Mint.
