Inflation Adjustments to the Price-Anderson Act Financial Protection Regulations
The Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (AEA), requires the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to adjust the maximum total and annual standard deferred premiums specified in the Price-Anderson Act for inflation at least once during each 5-year period following August 20, 2003. The NRC is amending its regulations to satisfy this requirement.
Actions Taken at June 20, 2013, Meeting
As part of its regular business meeting held on June 20, 2013, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Commission took the following actions: (1) Approved or tabled the applications of certain water resources projects; (2) rescinded approvals for two projects; (3) accepted settlements in lieu of penalty from Furman Foods, Inc. and Carrizo (Marcellus) LLC; and (4) took additional actions, as set forth in the SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION below.
