This notice is to inform the public that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is proposing to provide one-year supplemental funding in FY 2023 to three Hawaii grant programs to support Maui residents in the aftermath of the Maui wildfires. The Hawaii State Department of Health, the recipient for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics Planning, Development, and Implementation (CCBHC-PDI), Grants for Expansion and Sustainability of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children with Serious Emotional Disturbances Program (CMHI), and Community Mental Health Services Block Grant (MHBG) will be offered a total of $2,765,556 in supplemental funding since they are the only recipient providing or able to provide services to Maui residents.
Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Notice of Supplemental Funding Opportunity
This notice is to inform the public that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is supporting administrative supplements (in scope of the parent award) for the 58 Community Mental Health Services Block Grant (MHBG) recipients funded in FY 2023. The total amount of available funding is $8,292,318. The 58 MHBG recipients are eligible to receive up to $142,971 for a total of $8,292,318. If all eligible MHBG recipients do not apply, remaining funds will be redistributed to applicants. The funding amount per recipient may be adjusted if any MHBG recipients decline the funding. These recipients have a project end date of September 30, 2024. The supplemental funding will be used for providing and/or obtaining training and technical assistance, or workforce development meetings and activities.

Request for Information; Potential Changes to its Evidence-Based Practices Resource Center
SAMHSA is issuing this RFI to gather expert and public feedback to determine how to best satisfy Sec. 7002, subsections (b), (c), or (d) of the 21st Century Cures Act, which are explained below. Input from the public and experts will help SAMHSA identify the optimal ways to identify, evaluate, and disseminate programs and practices, based on their intended audiences, the nature of the evidence supporting the program or practice, and the type of product deemed best suited to the content. SAMHSA seeks input from members of the public on potential changes to its Evidence-Based Practices Resource Center (EBPRC), specifically regarding the possible introduction of three new domains for the EBPRC website (https://www.samhsa.gov/resource-search/ ebp). In addition to addressing four general questions about the EBPRC overall, SAMHSA encourages members of the public to comment on several questions pertaining to each of the domains described. SAMHSA believes that public and expert input on the new domains will help make the EBPRC more responsive to the needs of the public and the behavioral health field.
Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Notice of Supplemental Funding Opportunity
This notice is to inform the public that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is supporting supplemental funding in the scope of the parent award to the 36 Rural Emergency Medical Services Training Grant (REMS) recipients funded under Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) TI-23-011. These recipients have a project end date of September 29, 2024. The supplemental funding is to provide the opioid antagonist medication, naloxone, that can be used to treat respiratory depression in suspected opioid overdose patients, and for the procurement of emergency equipment used to rapidly reverse the effects of opioid overdoses. Recipients may receive up to $49,000 for the purchase of naloxone and up to $49,000 for purchasing equipment, for a total of $98,000 per recipient.

This notice is a notice of intent to award supplemental funding to the eight Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) recipients funded in FY 2018 under Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) SM-18-002 and TI-18-013. This notice is to inform the public that the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is supporting a supplement in scope of the original award for the one grant recipient, the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), funded in FY 2019 under the National Anti-Drug Coalitions Training and Workforce Development award, Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) SP-19-002. The recipient may receive up to $175,000 and the project period will be extended by 12 months until November 30, 2024. The supplemental funding to CADCA will be used to continue the Voices of Youth Training Initiative. The Voices of Youth Training Initiative has shown positive results, and the continuation of the program will support finalizing the sustainability and scalability beyond the supplements. The supplement will continue to connect the Future Health Professionals (HOSA) national student organization with CADCA to support youth-led strategic planning for the prevention field and develop leadership skills for the future workforce. This supplement will also allow CADCA to provide HOSA students an opportunity to both learn about and provide valuable input into strategic initiatives for prevention.
