Special Conditions: Boeing Commercial Airplanes Model 777-9 Airplane; Operation Without Normal Electrical Power
Document Number: 2021-21540
Type: Rule
Date: 2021-10-04
Agency: Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation
These special conditions are issued for the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (Boeing) Model 777-9 series airplane. This airplane will have a novel or unusual design feature when compared to the state of technology envisioned in the airworthiness standards for transport category airplanes. This design feature is electrical and electronic systems that perform critical functions, the loss of which could be catastrophic to the airplane. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this design feature. Airworthiness Directives; Saab AB, Support and Services (Formerly Known as Saab AB, Saab Aeronautics) Airplanes
Document Number: 2021-21480
Type: Proposed Rule
Date: 2021-10-04
Agency: Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation
The FAA proposes to supersede Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2020-07-17, which applies to all Saab AB, Support and Services Model SAAB 2000 airplanes. AD 2020-07-17 requires revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations. Since the FAA issued AD 2020-07-17, the FAA has determined that new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. This proposed AD would require revising the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is proposed for incorporation by reference. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
