Document Number: 2021-27220
Type: Notice
Date: 2021-12-16
Agency: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Department of Transportation
FMCSA denies an application from the Small Business in Transportation Coalition (SBTC) seeking reconsideration of the Agency's March 31, 2015 denial of the Association of Independent Property Brokers and Agents' (AIPBA) application for an exemption from the $75,000 bond requirement for all property brokers and freight forwarders. FMCSA treats the SBTC request as a new exemption application. After reviewing SBTC's application and the public comments, the Agency has concluded that the exemption request should be denied because it does not meet the statutory factors for an exemption.

FMCSA is also making non-substantive changes to the survey to make it easier to complete and to make the data collected more useful. The revised ICR describes the nature of the information collection and its expected paperwork burdens. FMCSA requests that OMB approve this collection by December 20, 2021.
