The Minerals Management Service (MMS) has issued a Record of Decision for OCS Central GOM Lease Sale 205 (October 2007). As part of the decision process, MMS published in April 2007 a final environmental impact statement (EIS) on the 2007-2012 Western and Central GOM oil and gas leasing proposals, including Sale 205. In preparing this decision, MMS has considered alternatives to the proposed actions, the impacts of Sale 205 as presented in the EIS, and all comments received throughout the EIS-process. Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan, Environmental Impact Statement, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Arizona and Utah

Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, 42 U.S.C. 4332(2)(C), the National Park Service is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for an Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) Management Plan for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Arizona and Utah. This effort will result in an ORV Management Plan/EIS to guide the management of ORV use at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (NRA). The ORV Management Plan/EIS may also form the basis for a special regulation pursuant to 36 CFR 4.10 to regulate ORV use at Glen Canyon NRA. The ORV Management Plan/EIS would address three spheres of ORV use at Glen Canyon: (1) At the Lone Rock Beach area; (2) at 14 designated accessible shoreline areas; and (3) on 388 miles of park roads. The ORV Management Plan/EIS will assess potential environmental impacts associated with a range of reasonable alternatives for managing ORV impacts on park resources such as threatened and endangered species, soils, vegetation, wildlife, cultural resources, and other appropriate topics. Socioeconomic impacts and effects on visitor experience and public safety will also be analyzed.

Migratory Bird Hunting; Proposed Frameworks for Late-Season Migratory Bird Hunting Regulations

The Fish and Wildlife Service (hereinafter Service or we) is proposing to establish the 2007-08 late-season hunting regulations for certain migratory game birds. We annually prescribe frameworks, or outer limits, for dates and times when hunting may occur and the number of birds that may be taken and possessed in late seasons. These frameworks are necessary to allow State selections of seasons and limits and to allow recreational harvest at levels compatible with population and habitat conditions.
