Meetings of the United States-Peru Environmental Affairs Council, Environmental Cooperation Commission and Sub-Committee on Forest Sector Governance
The Department of State and the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) are providing notice that the United States and Peru intend to hold the fifth meeting of the Sub-Committee on Forest Sector Governance (the ``Sub-Committee'') on May 29, 2012, and the third meeting of the Environmental Affairs Council (the ``Council'') and the second meeting of the Environmental Cooperation Commission (the ``Commission'') on May 31, 2012. The public sessions for the Council and Sub-Committee also will be held on May 31, at 2:00 p.m. The entire meeting of the Commission will be open to the public and will begin at 3:45 p.m. All meetings will take place at 1724 F St. NW., Washington, DC. The purpose of the meetings is to review implementation of: Chapter 18 (Environment) of the United States-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA); the PTPA Annex on Forest Sector Governance (Annex 18.3.4); the United States-Peru Environmental Cooperation Agreement (ECA); and the 2011-2014 Work Program under the ECA. The Department of State and USTR invite interested organizations and members of the public to attend the public sessions and Commission meeting, and to submit written comments or suggestions regarding implementation of Chapter 18, Annex 18.3.4, the ECA, or the 2011-2014 Work Program, and any items that should be included on the meetings' agendas. Please include your full name and any organization or group you represent. In preparing comments, submitters are encouraged to refer to: Chapter 18 of the PTPA, including Annex 18.3.4, The Final Environmental Review of the PTPA, The ECA, and The 2011-2014 Work Program. Culturally Significant Objects Imported for Exhibition Determinations: “Gauguin, Cézanne, Matisse: Visions of Arcadia”
Notice is hereby given of the following determinations: Pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Act of October 19, 1965 (79 Stat. 985; 22 U.S.C. 2459), Executive Order 12047 of March 27, 1978, the Foreign Affairs Reform and Restructuring Act of 1998 (112 Stat. 2681, et seq.; 22 U.S.C. 6501 note, et seq.), Delegation of Authority No. 234 of October 1, 1999, and Delegation of Authority No. 236-3 of August 28, 2000 (and, as appropriate, Delegation of Authority No. 257 of April 15, 2003), I hereby determine that the objects to be included in the exhibition ``Gauguin, C[eacute]zanne, Matisse: Visions of Arcadia,'' imported from abroad for temporary exhibition within the United States, are of cultural significance. The objects are imported pursuant to loan agreements with the foreign owners or custodians. I also determine that the exhibition or display of the exhibit objects at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from on or about June 20, 2012 until on or about September 3, 2012, and at possible additional exhibitions or venues yet to be determined, is in the national interest. I have ordered that Public Notice of these Determinations be published in the Federal Register.
