Additionally, the record to be matched section was updated to reflect HUD's new Privacy Act Systems of Records involved in the CAIVRS matching program. This update does not change the authority and the objectives of the existing HUD and VA computer matching program.
Request for Comments on Trend Factor Methodology Used in the Calculation of Fair Market Rents
Document Number: 2011-5263
Type: Notice
Date: 2011-03-09
Agency: Department of Housing and Urban Development
Section 8(c)(1) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (USHA) requires the Secretary to publish FMRs periodically, but not less than annually, for effect on October 1 of each year. Today's notice requests public comment regarding the manner in which HUD calculates the trend factor used in the Fair Market Rent (FMR) estimates to meet the statutory requirement that FMRs be ``trended so the rentals will be current for the year to which they apply''. HUD provides several proposed alternatives to the current trend factor and requests comments on these alternatives as well as suggestions of other ideas.
