Rates for Pilotage on the Great Lakes
The Coast Guard is proposing to update the rates for pilotage on the Great Lakes. Based on our review we propose to adjust the pilotage rates an average of 6% for the 2006 shipping season to generate sufficient revenue to cover allowable expenses, target pilot compensation, and returns on investment.
National Maritime Security Advisory Committee
The National Maritime Security Advisory Committee (NMSAC) will hold a meeting to discuss various issues relating to national maritime security. This notice announces the date, time, and location for the meeting of the NMSAC.
Safety Zone; North San Diego Bay, San Diego, CA
The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone on the navigable waters of San Diego Bay in support of a fireworks display series near the maritime navigational channel in the vicinity of the North Embarcadero. The safety zone is necessary to provide for the safety of the crew, spectators, participants of the event, participating vessels and other vessels and users of the waterway. Persons and vessels are prohibited from entering into, transiting through, or anchoring within this safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port, or his designated representative.
Special Local Regulations for Marine Events; Choptank River, Cambridge, MD
The Coast Guard proposes to establish temporary special local regulations during the ``Cambridge Offshore Challenge'', a marine event to be held over the waters of the Choptank River at Cambridge, Maryland. These special local regulations are necessary to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the event. This action is intended to restrict vessel traffic in the Choptank River during the event.
Special Local Regulations for Marine Events; Chesapeake Bay, Cape Charles, VA
The Coast Guard is establishing special local regulations for the ``East Coast Boat Racing Club power boat race'', a marine event to be held over the waters of the Chesapeake Bay adjacent to Cape Charles, Virginia. These special local regulations are necessary to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the event. This action is intended to restrict vessel traffic on the Chesapeake Bay in the vicinity of Cape Charles Beach, Cape Charles, Virginia during the event.
Safety Zone; BART Transbay Tube Seismic Upgrade; San Francisco, CA
The Coast Guard is establishing a moving temporary safety zone in the navigable waters of San Francisco Bay, California during vibro penetration testing for a seismic upgrade of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Transbay tube. The testing will require placement of a barge at test sites along the BART Transbay tube. The safety zone will surround the barge and move with the barge as it conducts the tests at seven sites along the BART Transbay tube. This safety zone is necessary to protect persons and vessels from hazards, injury, and damage associated with the vibro penetration testing. Unauthorized persons or vessels are prohibited from entering into, transiting through, or remaining in the safety zone without permission of the Captain of the Port San Francisco or his designated representative.
Drawbridge Operation Regulations; James River, Between Isle of Wight and Newport News, VA
The Coast Guard is temporarily changing the regulations that govern the operation of the James River Bridge, at mile 5.0, between Isle of Wight and Newport News, Virginia. The temporary final rule will provide vessel openings of the drawbridge upon two hours advance notice 24 hours a day beginning at 7 a.m. July 13, 2006. This action was requested by the contractor, on behalf of Virginia Department of Transportation (DOT), to facilitate sandblasting and painting operations.
Letter of Recommendation, Proposed LNG Project, Jordan Cove Energy Project, LP, Coos County, OR
The Coast Guard is issuing this correction to an earlier notice that published on June 27, 2006, in order to correct and update the time of the Public Meeting and the Request for Written Comments. Our earlier notice listed an incorrect start time for the public meeting and due date for written comments.
Special Local Regulations for Marine Events; Assateague Channel, Chincoteague, VA
The Coast Guard is implementing the special local regulations for the 2006 Annual Chincoteague Pony Swim, a marine event to be held July 26 and July 28, 2006, on the waters of Assateague Channel at Chincoteague, Virginia. These special local regulations are necessary to control vessel traffic due to the confined nature of the waterway and to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the event. The effect will be to restrict general navigation in the regulated area for the safety of spectators and vessels transiting the event area.
Special Local Regulations for Marine Events; Choptank River, Cambridge, MD
The Coast Guard proposes to establish permanent special local regulations during the ``Chesapeakeman Ultra Triathlon'', a marine event to be held annually on the last Saturday in September on the waters of the Choptank River at Cambridge, MD. For 2006 this marine event will be held on September 30, 2006. These special local regulations are necessary to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the event. This action is intended to temporarily restrict vessel traffic in a portion of the Choptank River during the Chesapeakeman Ultra Triathlon swim.
Special Local Regulations for Marine Events; Sunset Lake, Wildwood Crest, NJ
The Coast Guard proposes to establish permanent special local regulations during the ``Sunset Lake Hydrofest'', a marine event to be held annually on the last weekend in September or the first weekend in October on the waters of Sunset Lake, Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. For 2006 this marine event will be held on September 30 and October 1, 2006. These special local regulations are necessary to provide for the safety of life on navigable waters during the event. This action is intended to restrict vessel traffic in portions of Sunset Lake during the event.
