This final notice announces our decision to approve the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ) as a national accrediting organization for hospitals that wish to participate in the Medicare or Medicaid programs.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is announcing an opportunity for the public to comment on CMS' intention to collect information from the public. Under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), federal agencies are required to publish notice in the Federal Register concerning each proposed collection of information, including each proposed extension or reinstatement of an existing collection of information, and to allow a second opportunity for public comment on the notice. Interested persons are invited to send comments regarding the burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including any of the following subjects: (1) The necessity and utility of the proposed information collection for the proper performance of the agency's functions; (2) the accuracy of the estimated burden; (3) ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected; and (4) the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology to minimize the information collection burden.

Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP); Final Allotments to States, the District of Columbia, and U.S. Territories and Commonwealths for Fiscal Year 2013
This notice sets forth the final allotments of federal funding available to each State, the District of Columbia, and each U.S. Territory and Commonwealth for fiscal year 2013. Title XXI of the Social Security Act (the Act) authorizes payment of federal matching funds to States, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Territories and Commonwealths to initiate and expand health insurance coverage to uninsured, low-income children under the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The fiscal year allotments contained in this notice were determined in accordance with the funding provisions and final regulations published in the February 17, 2011 Federal Register (76 FR 9233).
Medicaid Program; Disproportionate Share Hospital Allotments and Institutions for Mental Diseases Disproportionate Share Hospital Limits for FY 2012, and Preliminary FY 2013 Disproportionate Share Hospital Allotments and Limits
This notice announces the final federal share disproportionate share hospital (DSH) allotments for federal fiscal year (FY) 2012 and the preliminary federal share DSH allotments for FY 2013. This notice also announces the final FY 2012 and the preliminary FY 2013 limits on aggregate DSH payments that states may make to institutions for mental diseases (IMDs) and other mental health facilities. This notice also includes background information describing the methodology for determining the amounts of states' FY DSH allotments and IMD DSH limits.
Medicaid Program; State Allotments for Payment of Medicare Part B Premiums for Qualifying Individuals (QIs): Federal Fiscal Years 2012 and 2013
This notice sets forth the States' final allotments available to pay the Medicare Part B premiums for Qualifying Individuals (QIs) for the Federal fiscal year (FY) 2012 and the preliminary QI allotments for FY 2013. The amounts of these QI allotments were determined in accordance with the methodology set forth in regulations and reflect funding for the QI program made available under recent legislation.
Agency Information Collection Activities; Proposed Collection; Public Comment Request
In compliance with section 3506(c)(2)(A) of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Office of the Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services, announces plans to submit an Information Collection Request (ICR), described below, to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The ICR is for extending the use of the approved information collection assigned OMB control number 0990-0360, which expires on September 30, 2013. Prior to submitting that ICR to OMB, Office of the Secretary seeks comments from the public regarding the burden estimate, below, or any other aspect of the ICR.
National Toxicology Program Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods; Announcement of Meeting; Request for Comments
This notice announces a meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods (SACATM). SACATM advises the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM), the National Toxicology Program (NTP) Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM), and the Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and NTP regarding statutorily mandated duties of ICCVAM and activities of NICEATM.
