Teacher Preparation Issues
Under the Congressional Review Act, Congress has passed, and the President has signed, a resolution of disapproval of the Teacher Preparation Issues final regulations that were published on October 31, 2016. Pursuant to the resolution, the Department of Education (Department) is removing applicable regulations from the Code of Federal Regulations.
Request for Information Regarding Disclosures for Student Financial Accounts
The Secretary seeks information from the public regarding the major features and types of commonly assessed fees that postsecondary institutions (institutions) must disclose under 34 CFR 668.164(d)(4)(i)(B)(2) of the cash management regulations with regard to each of the institution's Tier 1 (T1) or Tier 2 (T2) arrangements as defined under Sec. 668.164(e)(1) and (f)(1), respectively. The Secretary also requests feedback regarding the proposed format of these disclosures. The Secretary intends to use this information in developing a notice to be published in the Federal Register describing the format, content, and update requirements that institutions may follow to satisfy the requirements of Sec. 668.164(d)(4)(i)(B)(2) with respect to the major features and assessed fees associated with the T1 and T2 arrangements.
