The Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) announces two priorities under the Centers for Independent Living (CIL) ProgramTraining and Technical Assistance. The Assistant Secretary may use one or more of these priorities for competitions in fiscal year (FY) 2007 and in later years. We take this action to improve the CIL program efficiency, quality of evaluation methods for CIL program activities, and outcomes for individuals with significant disabilities who receive independent living services from CILs and to improve the performance of Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs).
