Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission) and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) that a meeting of the Texas Advisory Committee (Committee) to the Commission will be held at 2:00 p.m. (Central Time) Wednesday, May 24, 2017. The purpose of the meeting is for the Committee to receive orientation from Commission staff and share project process.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), that a planning meeting of the District of Columbia Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 10:00 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the offices of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue NW., Suite 1150, Washington, DC 20425. The purpose of the planning meeting is to discuss and select the topic for the committee's civil rights project.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), that meetings of the Connecticut Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene by conference call at 12:00 p.m. (EDT) on: Tuesday, May 2, 2017, and Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss and vote on an advisory memorandum to the Commission on solitary confinement and discuss future advice on the topic.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission) and the Federal Advisory Committee Act that the Minnesota Advisory Committee (Committee) will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 03, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. CST for the purpose of reviewing and discussing public testimony regarding civil rights and policing practices in Minnesota.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), that a meeting of the Maryland Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 10:00 a.m. (EDT) on April 25, 2017 in the Auditorium, Earl C. Graves School of Business & Management, at Morgan State University located at 1700 E. Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore, MD, 21251. The purpose of the briefing meeting is to hear testimony on the impact of the recent Court of Appeals decision on bail policies. The Committee will also hear testimony on whether jurisdictions in Maryland are raising revenue through the use of fines and fees, including traffic tickets, other minor offenses, reimbursement fees for the costs of defense services, fine surcharges, court administrative fees, user fees to defray the costs of incarceration, and probation, parole or other supervision fees and whether these are disparately impacting people of color.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), that an orientation and planning meeting of the South Dakota Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene at 2:00 p.m. (MST) on Thursday, April 20, 2017, via teleconference. The purpose of the meeting is a discussion, post- briefing, on the topic, ``The Subtle Effects of Racism in South Dakota'' that was held in Aberdeen, SD, on Friday, March 24, 2017. The committee will also discuss which city and approximate date they would like to hold their second of three briefings throughout the state on the topic of the subtle effects of racism.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Commission), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), that a planning meeting of the Delaware State Advisory Committee to the Commission will convene by conference call, on Monday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. (EDT). The purpose of the meeting is to make preparations for a briefing meeting on Policing and Implicit Bias in Delaware.
