Technical Advisory Committee; Request for Nominations
The BLS is soliciting new members for the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). Five current membership terms expire on April 11, 2016. The TAC provides advice and makes recommendations to the Bureau of Labor Statistics on technical aspects of data collection and the formulation of economic measures. On some technical issues there are differing views, and receiving feedback at public meetings provides BLS with the opportunity to consider all viewpoints. The Committee will consist of 16 members and will be chosen from a cross-section of economists, statisticians, and behavioral scientists who represent a balance of expertise. The economists will have research experience with technical issues related to BLS data and will be familiar with employment and unemployment statistics, price index numbers, compensation measures, productivity measures, occupational and health statistics, or other topics relevant to BLS data series. The statisticians will be familiar with sample design, data analysis, computationally intensive statistical methods, non-sampling errors or other areas which are relevant to BLS work. The behavioral scientists will be familiar with questionnaire design, usability or other areas of survey development. BLS invites persons interested in serving on the TAC to submit their names for consideration for committee membership.

Technical Advisory Committee; Request for Nominations
The BLS is soliciting new members for the BLS Technical Advisory Committee (BLSTAC). The Committee presents advice and makes recommendations to the BLS on technical aspects of the collection and formulation of economic measures. The Committee functions solely as an advisory body to the BLS, on technical topics selected by the BLS. The Committee consists of approximately sixteen members who serve as Special Government Employees. Members are appointed by the BLS and are approved by the Secretary of Labor. Committee members are economists, statisticians, and behavioral scientists and are chosen to achieve a balanced membership across those disciplines. They are prominent experts in their fields and recognized for their professional achievements and objectivity. BLS invites nominations for consideration for committee membership. Interested persons may nominate themselves or may submit the name of another person who they believe to be interested in and qualified to serve on the BLSTAC. Comment Request on the Local Area Unemployment Statistics Program
The Department of Labor, through the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and, specifically, the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) program, is responsible for the development and publication of State and local area labor force statistics. The LAUS program develops and issues monthly estimates of the labor force, employment, unemployment, and the unemployment rate for approximately 7,300 areas in the Nation. A major program redesign to improve the methodological basis of the LAUS estimates and update the geography and techniques to reflect 2010 Census data was initially funded in FY 2011. After completion of various long-term research projects, the BLS plans to implement improvements to its estimating methods with State and area LAUS estimates for January 2015, to be published in March 2015.

Comment Request
The Bureau of Labor Statistics is seeking comments on the proposed new method for projecting occupational separations. An experimental dataset comparing results from the current and alternate method, along with a description of the new method, is ready for users to review and provide feedback.
Data Users Advisory Committee; Request for Nominations
The BLS is soliciting new members for the Data Users Advisory Committee (DUAC). The current membership expires on January 14, 2015. The DUAC provides advice to the Bureau of Labor Statistics from the points of view of data users from various sectors of the U.S. economy, including the labor, business, research, academic, and government communities, on technical matters related to the collection, analysis, dissemination, and use of the Bureau's statistics, on its published reports, and on the broader aspects of its overall mission and function. The Committee will consist of 20 members and will be chosen from a cross-section of individuals who represent a balance of expertise across a broad range of BLS program areas, including employment and unemployment statistics, occupational safety and health statistics, compensation measures, price indexes, and productivity measures; or other areas related to the subject matter of BLS programs. BLS invites persons interested in serving on the DUAC to submit their names for consideration for committee membership.
