Partial Extension of Comment Deadline on CARD Act Request for Information
Section 502(a) of the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009 (CARD Act or Act) requires the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (Bureau or CFPB) to conduct a review (Review) of the consumer credit card market, within the limits of its existing resources available for reporting purposes. In connection with conducting that Review, and in accordance with Section 502(b) of the CARD Act, the Bureau published a Request for Information in the Federal Register on March 19, 2015, soliciting from the public comment on a number of aspects of the consumer credit card market. The Request for Information provided a 60-day comment period that will end on May 18, 2015. To allow interested persons additional time to consider and submit their responses, the Bureau has determined that an extension of the comment period on four of the specific areas of interest noted in the original Request for Informationonline disclosures, grace periods, add-on products, and debt collectionuntil June 17, 2015, is appropriate.
