Administrative Guidance Procedures
This rule codifies our policies and procedures for reviewing and clearing administrative guidance documents.
Records Schedules; Availability and Request for Comments
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) publishes notice of certain Federal agency requests for records disposition authority (records schedules). We publish notice in the Federal Register and on regulations.gov for records schedules in which agencies propose to dispose of records they no longer need to conduct agency business. We invite public comments on such records schedules.
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Committee; Meeting and Request for Public Comments
We are announcing an upcoming Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Committee meeting in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act and the second United States Open Government National Action Plan. We are also providing an opportunity for the public to provide comments on the FOIA Advisory Committee's final draft report to the Archivist of the United States.

NARA Facilities, Locations, Hours, and Public Use
We are updating our regulation listing our facility addresses and contact information to reflect changes to this information. We are also revising our regulation on public use of NARA facilities to remove outdated procedures, update in response to organizational and technological changes, and streamline the provisions for easier reading. We are also revising both regulations for plain language purposes.
Records Management; General Records Schedule (GRS); GRS Transmittal 31
NARA is issuing revisions to the General Records Schedule (GRS). The GRS provides mandatory disposition instructions for administrative records common to several or all Federal agencies. Transmittal 31 includes only changes we have made to the GRS since we published Transmittal 30 in December 2019. Additional GRS schedules remain in effect that we are not issuing via this transmittal.
