Notice of Inquiry; An Analysis of the European Union Repeal of the Liner Conference Block Exemption
The Federal Maritime Commission (``FMC'' or ``Commission'') is issuing this inquiry to solicit information and comments concerning the effects on international liner shipping of the European Union's (``E.U.'') repeal of the liner block exemption from competition laws that took effect on October 18, 2008. This information will assist the Commission in its identification, analysis and evaluation of any consequences of the E.U.'s policy decision on U.S. trades, and will be incorporated into the Commission's research for An Analysis of the E.U. Repeal of the Liner Conference Block Exemption (``E.U. Study'') which is scheduled to be completed in late 2011.
Agency Information Collection Activities: Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request
In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC or Commission) hereby gives notice that it has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget a request for an extension of the existing collection requirements under 46 CFR 515Licensing, Financial Responsibility Requirements and General Duties for Ocean Transportation Intermediaries and Related Forms. The FMC has requested an extension of an existing collection as listed below.
