Rancho Seco Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering the renewal of Special Nuclear Materials (SNM) License SNM-2510 for the Rancho Seco Nuclear Plant Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) (Rancho Seco ISFSI) located in Sacramento County, California. The NRC has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) for this proposed license renewal in accordance with its regulations. Based on the EA, the NRC has concluded that a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) is appropriate. The NRC also is conducting a safety evaluation of the proposed license renewal.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) announces that on March 24, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee (EEMAC) will hold a public meeting in the Conference Center at the CFTC's headquarters in Washington, DC. Transfer of Very Low-Level Waste to Exempt Persons for Disposal
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing a proposed interpretation of its low-level radioactive waste disposal regulations that would permit licensees to dispose of waste by transfer to persons who hold specific exemptions for the purpose of disposal. The NRC will consider approval of requests for specific exemptions for the purpose of disposal if they are for the disposal of very low-level radioactive waste by land burial. Therefore, the NRC's intent is that this interpretive rule will allow licensees to transfer very low-level radioactive waste to exempt persons for the purpose of disposal by land burial. The NRC is requesting comment on this proposed interpretive rule.
