AGENCY:
We are extending the
comment period for our proposed rule
that would amend the Animal Welfare
Act regulations concerning the humane
handling, care, treatment, and
transportation of marine mammals in
captivity. This action will allow
interested persons additional time to
prepare and submit comments.
DATES: The comment period for the
proposed rule published on February 3,
2016 (81 FR 5629) is extended. We will
consider all comments that we receive
on or before May 4, 2016.

February 3, 2016, we published in the
Federal Register (81 FR 5629–5657,
Docket No. APHIS–2006–0085) a
proposal to amend the Animal Welfare
Act regulations concerning the humane
handling, care, treatment, and
transportation of marine mammals in
captivity.
Comments on the proposed rule were
required to be received on or before
April 4, 2016. We are extending the
comment period on Docket No. APHIS–
2006–0085 for an additional 30 days.
This action will allow interested
persons additional time to prepare and
submit comments.
