Abstract: The Plant Protection Act (PPA, 7 U.S.C. 7701 et seq.) authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to restrict the importation, entry, or interstate movement of plants, plant products, and other articles to prevent the introduction of plant pests into the United States or their dissemination within the United States. Regulations authorized by the PPA concerning the importation of fruits and vegetables into the United States from certain parts of the world are contained in ‘‘Subpart— Fruits and Vegetables’’ (7 CFR 319.56– 1 through 319.56–71). In accordance with § 319.56–42, peppers from the Republic of Korea are subject to certain conditions before entering the continental United States to prevent the introduction of plant pests into the United States. The regulations include requirements for greenhouse registration and inspection by officials of the National Plant Quarantine Service (NPQS) of the Republic of Korea and the use of a phytosanitary certificate with a declaration by NPQS officials stating the peppers were grown in greenhouses in accordance with the regulations and inspected and found free of the listed plant pests. We are asking the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to approve our use of these information collection activities for an additional 3 years.     Title: Importation of Peppers From the Republic of Korea.
    OMB Control Number: 0579-0282.
    Type of Request: Extension of approval of an information 
collection.
    Abstract: The Plant Protection Act (PPA, 7 U.S.C. 7701 et seq.) 
authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to restrict the importation, 
entry, or interstate movement of plants, plant products, and other 
articles to prevent the introduction of plant pests into the United 
States or their dissemination within the United States. Regulations 
authorized by the PPA concerning the importation of fruits and 
vegetables into the United States from certain parts of the world are 
contained in ``Subpart--Fruits and Vegetables'' (7 CFR 319.56-1 through 
319.56-71).
    In accordance with Sec.  319.56-42, peppers from the Republic of
