Administrative Conference of the United States 2013 – Federal Register Recent Federal Regulation Documents

The Administrative Conference of the United States adopted three recommendations at its Fifty-Ninth Plenary Session. The appended recommendations address the use of social media to support agency rulemaking activities, provide guidance to courts and agencies in connection with the judicial remedy of remanding an agency action without vacating that action, and offer best practices to facilitate cross-agency collaboration under the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Modernization Act of 2010. The Conference also adopted one formal statement at the Plenary Session on improving the timeliness of regulatory review by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.

The Administrative Conference of the United States adopted four recommendations at its Fifty-eighth Plenary Session. The appended recommendations address ways to improve the adjudication of Social Security disability benefits, best practices for use of benefit-cost analysis in rulemaking by independent regulatory agencies, transparency in agencies' scientific decisionmaking, and best practices for agencies with respect to the administrative record in informal rulemaking.

Notice is hereby given of eleven public meetings of the Committee on Adjudication, Committee on Judicial Review, Committee on Regulation, and Committee on Rulemaking of the Assembly of the Administrative Conference of the United States. At these meetings, the committees will consider reports by Conference consultants and work on preparing recommendations. These meetings will be open to the public.
