Section 3A:3-3.2 - Who may disclose information to the media or a member of the public about a child fatality or near fatality

The Department of Children and Families' Office of Communications shall direct and control the release of information to the media about a child fatality or near fatality investigated by the Division or determined by the Division to be the result of abuse or neglect. Information shall be disclosed by the Director or designee or a representative of the Department's Office of Communications. No other representative of the Division or the Department shall disclose information to the media or a member of the public about a child fatality or near fatality unless specifically authorized to do so by the Director or designee or the Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families.
