Notice of Proposed Intelligent Mail Indicia Performance Criteria With Request for Comments
The Postal Service is updating and consolidating the product submission procedures for Postage Evidencing Systems (PES). This involves the replacement of the current Information-Based Indicia Performance Criteria (IBI PC) with new Intelligent Mail Indicia Performance Criteria (IMI PC).
USPS Package Intercept-New Product Offerings
The Postal Service proposes to revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM[supreg]) 507.5 and 508.7 to implement second phase of USPS Package Intercept TM service introducing an electronic process for Commercial customers requesting USPS Package Intercept and other related features.
Bylaws of the Board of Governors
On March 24, 2010, the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service adopted a number of amendments to the Board's Bylaws. These amendments revised and clarified the provisions concerning the election and terms of office of the Board Chairman and Vice-Chairman. The amendments also formalized the process for notation voting (voting by paper ballot) on routine or administrative matters. This final rule incorporates the changes adopted by the Board.
Mobile Commerce and Personalization Promotion
The Postal Service will revise the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM[supreg]) 709.3 to add a new temporary promotion in the summer of 2012 for Presorted and automation First-Class Mail[supreg] cards, letters and flats, and Standard Mail[supreg] letters and flats bearing two-dimensional mobile barcodes or equivalent print technology.
POSTNET Barcode Discontinuation
The Postal Service proposes to revise various sections of the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM[supreg]) to set the timetable for discontinuing the use of POSTNETTM barcodes on all types of mail for price eligibility.
