Solicitation of Proposals for New and Modified Safe Harbors and Special Fraud Alerts
In accordance with section 205 of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), this annual notification solicits proposals and recommendations for developing new, or modifying existing, safe harbor provisions under section 1128B(b) of the Social Security Act (the Act), the Federal anti-kickback statute, as well as developing new OIG Special Fraud Alerts.
Privacy Act of 1974; Systems of Records
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of Inspector General (OIG) proposes to amend its systems of records by modifying six existing routine uses, adding one new routine use applicable to all systems of records, and making technical changes and corrections to its existing system of records notices. Based on these amendments, and to conform all system of records notices to the template prescribed by the Office of the Federal Register and the Office of Management and Budget, USDA OIG is re-publishing all of its system of records notices in their entirety.
Publication of OIG Special Fraud Alerts
This Federal Register notice sets forth two Special Fraud Alerts previously published by OIG on its website. We are publishing these Special Fraud Alerts in the Federal Register to ensure widespread dissemination of the Special Fraud Alerts to the general public and to satisfy the Federal Register publication requirement.
