Proposed Agency Information Collection
Document Number: 2013-03438
Type: Notice
Date: 2013-02-14
Agency: Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
The Department of Energy (DOE) has submitted an information collection request to the OMB for reinstatement under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. A Federal Register Notice with a 60-Day comment solicitation period on this information collection was published on May 24, 2012, Vol. 77, No. 101, pg. 31000. The information collection requests a three-year approval of its Customer Electricity Data Access and Control Questionnaire, OMB Control Number 1910-5164. The proposed collection will gather and share information about customer access to electricity usage data. The information will be shared on the DOE-supported OpenEI Web site where consumers can learn about the access offered by their electricity provider to energy usage data. Visitors to the Web site will also be able to learn about measures they can take to use energy more efficiently and economically.
Request for Information (RFI) for Commercial Building Energy Asset Score
Document Number: 2013-02753
Type: Notice
Date: 2013-02-07
Agency: Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has developed a preliminary commercial building energy asset score (hereinafter ``score''). The score provides information regarding the efficiency of a building's major energy consuming systems and is intended to enable greater understanding of building performance and potential savings. DOE is developing this voluntary program as part of its effort to achieve a 20 percent improvement in the energy efficiency of commercial buildings by 2020.

Energy Conservation Program: Test Procedures for Microwave Ovens (Active Mode)
Document Number: 2013-01537
Type: Proposed Rule
Date: 2013-02-04
Agency: Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) proposes to revise its test procedures for microwave ovens established under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. The proposed amendments would add provisions for measuring the active mode energy use for microwave ovens, including both microwave-only ovens and convection microwave ovens. Specifically, DOE is proposing provisions for measuring the energy use of the microwave-only cooking mode for both microwave-only ovens and convection microwave ovens based on the testing methods in the latest draft version of the International Electrotechnical Commission Standard 60705, ``Household microwave ovensMethods for measuring performance.'' DOE is proposing provisions for measuring the energy use of the convection-only cooking mode for convection microwave ovens based on the DOE test procedure for conventional ovens in our regulations. DOE is also proposing to calculate the energy use of the convection-microwave cooking mode for convection microwave ovens by apportioning the microwave-only mode and convection-only mode energy consumption measurements based on typical consumer use.
