Judges Panel of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
The Judges Panel of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (Judges Panel) will meet on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern time. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and review the role and responsibilities of the Judges Panel and information received from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in order to ensure the integrity of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (Award) selection process. The agenda will include: Judges Panel roles and processes; Baldrige Program updates; new business/public comment; lessons learned from the 2016 judging process; and the 2017 Award process. A portion of this meeting is closed to the public in order to protect the proprietary data to be examined and discussed.
Board of Overseers of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and Judges Panel of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
The Board of Overseers of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (Board of Overseers) and the Judges Panel of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (Judges Panel) will meet together in open session on Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. The Board of Overseers, appointed by the Secretary of Commerce, reports the results of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (Award) activities to the Director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) each year, along with its recommendations for the improvement of the Award process. The Judges Panel, also appointed by the Secretary of Commerce, ensures the integrity of the Award selection process and recommends Award recipients to the Secretary of Commerce. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and review information received from the National Institute of Standards and Technology and from the Chair of the Judges Panel. The agenda will include: Baldrige Program Update, Baldrige Foundation Fundraising Update, Baldrige Judges Panel Update, Ethics Review, Applicants and Eligibility, and New Business/Public Comment.
Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology
The Visiting Committee on Advanced Technology (VCAT or Committee), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), will meet in an open session on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time and Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The VCAT is composed of not fewer than 9 members appointed by the NIST Director, a majority of whom are eminent in such fields as business, research, new product development, engineering, labor, education, management consulting, environment, and international relations.

Request for Participation on Developing Industrial Wireless Systems Best Practices Guidelines
The Intelligent Systems Division of NIST is forming a technical working group (TWG) to develop best practices guidelines in selecting and deploying industrial wireless solutions within industrial environments such as process control and manufacturing. Guidelines will consider the entire wireless ecosystem within factories with emphasis on wireless networks operating on the factory floor. This includes factory/plant instrumentation, control systems, and back-haul networks. The guidelines will be technology and vendor agnostic and will address the current needs of industry to have independent guidelines based on user requirements and measurement science research.
National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) Trusted Geolocation in the Cloud Building Block
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) invites organizations to provide products and technical expertise to support and demonstrate security platforms for the Trusted Geolocation in the Cloud Building Block. This notice is the initial step for the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) in collaborating with technology companies to address cybersecurity challenges identified under the Trusted Geolocation in the Cloud Building Block. Participation in the building block is open to all interested organizations.
Call for Industrial Wireless Testbed Participation
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), an agency of the United States Department of Commerce, announces an opportunity for industrial wireless communications equipment suppliers and academic institutions to incorporate their use cases, techniques, and equipment into a NIST Industrial Wireless Testbed to help advance measurement science research in industrial wireless communication, with special emphasis on manufacturing applications.
National Advisory Committee on Windstorm Impact Reduction Meeting
The National Advisory Committee on Windstorm Impact Reduction (NACWIR or Committee), will hold a webinar initiating the work of the Committee via video conference on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This will be the first meeting of the Committee and is intended to provide Committee members and the public with a description of the statutory requirements and scope of work of the Committee, an overview of the National Windstorm Impact Reduction Program (NWIRP) and the draft NWIRP Strategic Plan, and to propose timeframes and milestones for the work of the Committee. Interested members of the public will be able to view the webinar and participate from remote locations by calling in to a central phone number.
