The United States Mint is setting prices and will resume selling previously available products. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a), 5112 & 5132 grant the Secretary of the Treasury to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint will resume selling previously available products. The United States Mint is setting the price of these coins in accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B). Effective November 15, 2008, the United States Mint will commence selling the following previously available products according to the following price schedule:

Pursuant to United States Code, Title 31, section 5135(b)(8)(C), the United States Mint announces the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) public meeting scheduled for November 24, 2008.

The United States Mint is setting the price for its 2008 United States Mint American Legacy Collection. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is establishing the price of this set to reflect the content of the set, production costs, and other relevant factors. Therefore, effective October 27, 2008, the United States Mint will commence selling the 2008 United States Mint American Legacy Collection at $100.00.

Pursuant to United States Code, Title 31, section 5135(b)(8)(C), the United States Mint announces the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) public meeting scheduled for September 24, 2008. Date: September 24, 2008. Time: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Location: United States Mint, 801 9th Street, NW., 2nd Floor, Conference Room A, Washington, DC 20220. Subject: Review reverse candidate designs for the President George W. Bush Second Term Medal, and other business as appropriate. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 5135, the CCAC: Advises the Secretary of the Treasury on any theme or design proposals relating to circulating coinage, bullion coinage, Congressional Gold Medals, and national and other medals. Advises the Secretary of the Treasury with regard to the events, persons, or places to be commemorated by the issuance of commemorative coins in each of the five calendar years succeeding the year in which a commemorative coin designation is made. Makes recommendations with respect to the mintage level for any commemorative coin recommended.

Pursuant to United States Code, title 31, section 5135(b), the United States Mint is reopening and extending the submission period for applications for appointment to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) as a member representing the interests of the general public in the coinage of the United States. The CCAC was established to: Advise the Secretary of the Treasury on any theme or design proposals relating to circulating coinage, bullion coinage, Congressional Gold Medals, and national and other medals produced by the United States Mint. Advise the Secretary of the Treasury with regard to the events, persons, or places that the CCAC recommends to be commemorated by the issuance of commemorative coins in each of the five calendar years succeeding the year in which a commemorative coin designation is made. Make recommendations with respect to the mintage level for any commemorative coin recommended. Total membership consists of eleven voting members appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury: One person specially qualified by virtue of his or her education, training or experience as a nationally or internationally recognized curator in the United States of a numismatic collection; One person specially qualified by virtue of his or her experience in the medallic arts or sculpture; One person specially qualified by virtue of his or her education, training, or experience in American history; One person specially qualified by virtue of his or her education, training, or experience in numismatics; Three persons who can represent the interests of the general public in the coinage of the United States; and Four persons appointed by the Secretary of the Treasury on the basis of the recommendations by the House and Senate leadership. Members are appointed for a term of four years. No individual may be appointed to the CCAC while serving as an officer or employee of the Federal Government. The CCAC is subject to the direction of the Secretary of the Treasury. Meetings of the CCAC are open to the public and are held approximately six to eight times per year. The United States Mint is responsible for providing the necessary support, technical services and advice to the CCAC. CCAC members are not paid for their time or services, but, consistent with Federal Travel Regulations, members are reimbursed for their travel and lodging expenses to attend meetings. Members are Special Government Employees and are subject to the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch (5 CFR part 2653). The United States Mint will review all submissions and will forward its recommendations to the Secretary of the Treasury for appointment consideration. Candidates should include specific skills, abilities, talents, and credentials to support their applications. The United States Mint is also interested in candidates who have demonstrated leadership skills, have received recognition by their peers in their field of interest, have a record of participation in public service or activities, and are willing to commit the time and effort to participate in the CCAC meetings and related activities. The United States Mint is setting the price for the 2008 American Buffalo One Ounce Gold Proof Coin. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a) and 5112(a)(11), & (q) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue gold coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint will mint and issue American Buffalo One Ounce Gold Proof Coins. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 5112(q)(5) & 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is setting the price of these coins to reflect recent increases in the market price of gold, as follows:

The United States Mint is setting prices for its 2008 American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated Coins. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a) and 5112(k) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue platinum coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint mints and issues 2008 American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated Coins in four denominations with the following weights: one ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, one-tenth ounce. The United States Mint also produces American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated four-coin sets that contain one coin of each denomination. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is setting the price of these coins to reflect recent increases in the market price of platinum. The United States Mint will make available the following 2008 American Eagle Uncirculated Platinum Coins according to the following price schedule:

The United States Mint is adjusting prices for its American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated One-Ounce Coins and its American Eagle Platinum Uncirculated One-Tenth Ounce Coins. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a) and 5112(k) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue platinum coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint mints and issues 2007 American Eagle Uncirculated Coins with the following weights: One-ounce and one-tenth ounce. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is changing the price of these coins to reflect the increases in the market price of platinum. Accordingly, the United States Mint will commence selling the following 2007 American Eagle Uncirculated Coins according to the following price schedule:

In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is changing the price of this coin set to reflect the increase in value of the underlying precious metal content of the coinsthe result of increases in the market price of platinum. Accordingly, the United States Mint will commence selling the 2007 American Eagle 10th Anniversary Platinum Coin Set according to the following price schedule:

The United States Mint is adjusting prices for its American Buffalo 2008 Celebration Coin Program. Pursuant to 31 U.S.C. 5112(q), and in accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is changing the price of these coins to reflect the increase in value of the underlying precious metal content of the coinsthe result of increases in the market price of gold. Accordingly, effective March 7, 2008, the United States Mint will commence selling the American Buffalo 2008 Celebration Coin Program according to the following price schedule:

The United States Mint is setting prices for 2008 American Eagle Gold Coins and the 2008 Elizabeth Monroe First Spouse Gold Coin. Pursuant to the authority that 31 U.S.C. 5111(a) and 5112(a)(7-11), & (o) grant the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue gold coins, and to prepare and distribute numismatic items, the United States Mint will mint and issue American Eagle Gold Proof Coins and the 2008 Elizabeth Monroe First Spouse Gold Coin. The 2008 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins will be available in four proof denominations with the following weights: One-ounce, one-half ounce, one-quarter ounce, one-tenth ounce. The United States Mint also produces an American Eagle four-coin set that contains one coin of each denomination. The 2008 Elizabeth Monroe First Spouse Gold Coin will be available in a one-half ounce version. In accordance with 31 U.S.C. 9701(b)(2)(B), the United States Mint is setting the price of these coins to reflect recent increases in the market price of gold.
