Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board; Meeting
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announces that the Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board will conduct a meeting on matters pertaining to management and protection of wild, free-roaming horses and burros on the Nation's public lands.
Notice of Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for Geothermal Leasing for the Truckhaven and Superstition Mountains
Pursuant to Section 102(2)(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq., the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to analyze the proposed leasing of approximately 16,640 acres of BLM- managed public lands for geothermal exploration, development, and utilization in the Truckhaven and Superstition Mountain areas located in Western Imperial County, California. The leasing of public lands for geothermal resources is consistent with the California Desert Plan. Comments are being solicited to help identify significant issues or concerns related to the proposed action, determine the scope of issues, and identify and refine alternatives to the proposed action.
